I didn't even think about the barrel being stainless when referencing the chrome lining.

*BRAIN FART*

I has just finished reading a thread asking if  "clone" barrels where chrome lined and just focused on that question.

I've ordered a few of the factory mags from Trimports, but I plan on ordering one of the 19 round Mec-Gar mags ASAP.

I hope to add one of the K2Ps to my collection tool, they also look to be very nice.

First post.  I just bought a used K2P for the grand total of $200.  Looks new and I haven't shot it yet.  Looking into the K2P brought me here.  I am thinking of the CM9 as well.  Most of the people I shoot IDPA with have fairly pricey handguns.  I am taking this K2P to the range and if anybody asks, I am going to tell them it's a High Point clone.   ;D

Welcome to the Forum and Congratulations on getting your SAR K2P at a great price!  :)  Should make for a very good handgun for IDPA.  I carried mine for two Winters and often go back to it.

Nice!  8)  Congratulations and may it serve you well!  :)  Looking forward to your Range Report on it, and do make it a separate thread!  :)

The barrel is forged stainless steel, it and the guide rod are finished in a very high polish. I don't beleive the barrel is chrome lined, but I'm not sure about it.

Barrels made of Stainless Steel need not be Chrome lined, as Stainless Steel contains Chromium.  Match Grade Barrels are often made of Stainless Steel.
Nitride Finished Barrels are now the hot ticket that will probably replace Chrome Lined and Stainless Steel Match Barrels.i have done some research and have found out that the barrels are chromed lined.

I ordered it knowing it only came with one magazine (I've ordered a few more). It's well made, has witness holes, has a 15 round capacity  and drops freely from the mag well.

So long as it will use the Mec-Gar Cz75B 17 and 19 round AFC Magazines, that's what I would use in it.  I typically have carried my SAR K2P with the Mec-Gar Cz75B 17 round AFC Magazines.

... Mecgar 19 rounder popped right in, I like being able to have 20 capacity if I need it. ...

I did not buy the CM Gen 2 because I thought the magazines were proprietary rather than a CZ75 style??  I hope I am wrong.

got out to the range today, and the cm9gen2 performed great (much better than me)!

it was super easy to shoot and get on target. i need to make a little bit of adjustment to my rear sight but otherwise its great.

not one issue with 2 different kinds of 115gr FMJ or 124gr JHP

Consider your hope fulfilled!  ;)  Small Frame Tanfoglio Magazines, in addition to Cz75B Magazines, also work.

The CM9 looks to be a handy CCW piece. I assume accurate as well?

You are most Welcome!  :)

Great Pic!  8)  It almost tempts me to sell my SAR K2P to my Brother-in-Law, who likes it, and go buy an SAR CM9 Gen 2.  Almost!  ;)
Then again, I could keep both.  :)

jwc007  quote.."....that most of my metal framed Cz Clones wear the Hogue Cz75 Wrap around Finger Groove Grips."

Do you know if those grips will fit the 2000 Mega????

Yes they will...........................but, I think you would be better served by the Hogue Cz75 Wrap-around Finger Groove Grips.

Quite a long time ago, I did try the Hogue Handall Slip On Grips on my full size Tanfoglio TA90, and it made the Grip much
too large for my liking.  Instead, I found the Hogue Cz75 Wrap-around Finger Groove Grip to be more slimming and comfortable.
At least for my hands, anyways.
