I am trying to get as many parts from the custom shops as I can with my budget. I am going to try and use this pistol to demonstrate a sort of upgrades buying guide. "So you want to upgrade to accomplish _______, here's parts options and here's what it improved." We'll see how far I can get on just 1 pistol and a limited budget. Makes getting this pistol all the more exciting though!

Got mine today and ran 200 flawless rounds through her. A little less felt recoil due to all steel construction. The beaver tail is better IMHO than my P01 - can get a wee bit higher with the grip. Also, there's no lanyard ring. Not pleased with the trigger though, but that can be remedied with a race hammer, 85C trigger and lighter hammer spring. Overall I'm happy with it since I usually end up moding the trigger and such anyway.

UPDATE: I hate to say it, but I rushed to judgment in my haste to let others here on this forum know my first impressions. After dry-firing it SA about three hundred times and then cleaning and lubing it for the first time (yes, I shot it before cleaning/lubing it) the SA is really not bad at all. A tad long but it smoothed right out and with a lighter hammer spring I think it will be acceptable in the short term. It still cams back a very little but it feels lighter and smoother now.

Got mine today as well. Won't get to make it to the range so I brought it home, took some pics, then cleaned it. A few things I noticed:
1) trigger isn't anything to write home about. I'll be replacing it though.
2) extended mag release
3) barrel ramp is polished
4) lots of lube, felt better after a cleaning. It stunk like rotten ocean too... Even the mags were goopy internally.
5) very thin safeties. Some people may like them but I'll be replacing them, my medium hands don't reach them well.
6) the beaver tail is definitely different. It reminds me a lot of my Tactical Sport beavertail... Don't have the TS anymore, but pics are below of my SP-01 and classic Compact.

Other than those things it's what I expected. I love it and I'm super excited to smooth out the trigger and get it to the range.

Scarlet, that looks just like my pistol! Go figure. Anyway, did you look at the test target on yours yet? What kind of dispersion does yours have?

Are the sights the standard glow in the dark paint?

Nice having the extended mag release already in, dealing with the trigger bar spring and the screw has been a bear.

Did it come with 2 mags or 3?

Finally is there a fpb?

Looks like the sights are standard glow in the dark paint of the front sight.
There is a FPB.
Came with the 2 in the box. Just had some others for comparison.
The dispersion was 70.4 mm. One dropped a little low and right, most are just a little right of POA. I played with how tight the barrel lock up is and it feels tighter than my Classic Compact that has the CGW bushing in it...

I've been wanting an all steel compact with a rail for quite a while now, but I really wanted one without the FPB - like a Shadow compact - but I'm happy with the SP01 Compact.

Rhart, why not just take the FPB (and it's other parts) out and turn it into a shadow?

I saw these pop up on Gunbroker and a few retailers listed on Slickguns a couple weeks or so ago and have been thinking about buying one, but ultimately decided that it's not really my dream CZ. I want this same gun, but with an aluminum alloy frame and serrated front and back of grip, like a P-01 with a safety. Will probably settle for a P-01 Omega once I can find one to check it out in person. A steel frame CZ 75 Compact is a heavy handgun. A full size H&K USP45 actually weighs less and is quite a bit larger (yes, I understand it's also made of plastic). I'm just not sure what I'd do with something like this when I already have an SP-01 and several pre-B 75's for range use, and my gun funds right now are going toward buying AR's prior to the election, so I decided to pass. If they are still available in 6 months or a year, I may reconsider.

Interesting to hear owners saying that the trigger is gritty. As you shoot it more, I'd be interested to hear how it smooths out. I picked up my SP-01 last month and it had such a buttery smooth trigger out of the box that I was under the impression that CZ had perhaps improved their production methods on new guns to improve the trigger pull on new guns.

I'm hesitant to modify a safety feature on a carry gun. If I get overly excited and shoot someone unintentionally that modification could turn an accidental shooting into a manslaughter charge or something. At the very least it would not be good for a civil suit.
