Got it home, absolutely love it! A little heavier to carry than the standard compact but, it gives me an excuse to buy a nice reinforced carry belt and a Winthrop P-01 IWB holster.

Anyone one have an idea of serial # ranges for these? Is it really only 500 made. Sorry didn't read all 27...

Twenty seven pages in!  Are there any women out there to provide shooting/handling feedback?

My wife wanted it, will let you know when she shoots it.

Ended up canceling and ordering from mr gun dealer.

Bill hicks wanted to beat my dealer up on shipping and tack on charges unless he spent a bunch of money.  Cant stand them as a distributor. Never liked them when I bought direct either.

Ended up paying the $541 to have it drop shipped to him. Would have cost me $75 more with sales tax, extra shipping and giving him a fair margin similar to what he makes on the transfer.

Too bad they're the only distributor with these.

Don't expect them to be flying off the shelf to dealers anytime soon. I'd bet it's almost all dropship sales for these. Most dealers wont deal with hicks for store inventory given the choice. Buds is certainly drop shipping from them, as is mr gun dealer. I'd bet everyone else is too - save maybe kygunco. I don't know how they work. My sp01 came from them, they were the only ones with a black suppressor ready.

Hey Borsig,  how's the compact runnin'? Remember that railed compact I told you I was waiting to get? It ended up being one on these. Awesome piece! Bought it a Finest Firearms. Wasn't the cheapest, but wasn't the most expensive either. $20 more than you did. Not sure if he has more. Possible. He says the CZ's fly off his shelf lately. He has some real nice TriStar clones also. I was able to handle a few. Had to say I was impressed

Glad you like it! Yup, CZ said 500 were all that was made. With how CZ does serial numbers on everything they aren't consecutive...

Thank you for all the information in this thread.  I just picked mine up from my ffl.  This is my first cz....I shoot mostly glocks.   My first impressions what i held it is that i like.

Pretty good choice for a first CZ IMHO. I'm betting there will be full size SP01 - or better yet, a Shadow - in your future.

I am already looking at them, LOL!  I am disappointed the MR Gun dealer shipped them USPS and I missed the weekend.  Next weekend i will be out at Valor ridge for Pistol Craft 1 class.  I have to take my Glock 19 since I do not have any time in with the CZ.  Hopefully I may get a chance after class to try it out.

Post a summary of your experiences at Valor Ridge and your thoughts on their class would you? Maybe a whole new thread.

I take it you ordered from Mr.Gundealer? If you did, call and ask if they have your FFL's info.

I ordered on the 6th. Called shop on the 7th to tell them to contact my FFL because my FFL wouldn't   call the shop at my request. Called shop again on the 12th to confirm, and they said the gun was in the mail. Later that night, I got the email confirmation.

I don't like the slow communication either and they can even be slow to answer their phone. My guess based on the time frame is you'll get notification by the end of this week.

So tempting, but I'm holding out for a P-01 Omega. Plus I just picked up a P-01 Pro-tek and funds are running low.

I should be receiving mine tomorrow.

Maybe someone already mentioned it, but if I'm getting Dawson sights, which do I order?
Do I order P-01 sights because the slide is the same length?
Or do I order 75/SP-01 sights?
Is there even a difference?

So this is my first CZ and definitely not my last. My first impressions are that the feel and quality of the firearm are awesome. I currently carry a 4.5 XDM .45 and it just feels cheap in comparison. This SP-01 compact is so heavy it outweighs my fully loaded XDM, which I consider a plus. I do hate the stock trigger and will need to be upgraded soon. I am very much an amateur to modifying firearms in general, so please forgive me in advance for all the questions. I blame you all for the following: 1. Convincing me to buy this 2. Probably selling my XDM and buying many more CZs 3. CGWs is now the most visited site on my work comp.

Welcome aboard! There's tons of great threads in the gunsmithing section, they helped me a ton when I got my first CZ. But always feel free to ask any questions, we are happy to help. You made a great choice for your first CZ, IMHO!
