I've been seeing them everywhere , went to a gun show last week, and I must have seen atleast 5 of them at different vendors. I'm beginning to wonder about the numbers available. I'm still glad I got one tho

They aren't rare at all, they literally are everywhere.

I had a quick question. I noticed this gun this morning and I've been wanting a CZ-75 compact for FOREVER, but sadly I'm a lefty and the all steel compact is right handed safety only. So color me surprised when I run across what looks like a P-01 but with ambi safety AND a full steel frame. I'm about to bit the bullet and grab one (unless someone can tell me why I shouldn't for my first CZ) but was wondering if the mags are the same as the Compact, PCR, P-01, or if they're proprietary to this model.

thanks!

Bill Hicks got the first 500. CZ custom brought in 100 and then 1000 more made it to a bunch of others. So if Bill Hicks is almost out we know there's 1100 or so out there that are being sold. I'm guessing these will be in stock another 6 months.

Ok thanks.....so if we want to be able to buy these locally at our LGS it seems that once Bill Hicks supply is gone our only option will be buying through internet sellers?

Well from some experiences of other forum members earlier that tried to have their LGS call  Hicks he was charging them a ton and they ended up going through an Internet seller anyways. But yeah... I think you are correct.

I ordered one from Anacortes last week when it showed 22 in stock. Over the week, it went down to 7. Today it is showing 32, so Anacortes is replenishing their supply. Mine arrives tomorrow to my FFL and in my hands tomorrow night. Looking forward to a comparison with my P-01 which has been 100% out of the box. Started years ago with a CZ 82 in 9mm Mak which I still shoot to this day with Hornady ammo, then got a 97B last year. Just trying to figure out which CZ is next?? Probably a Shadow. My 1911's are collecting too much dust these days......................

Went back to Anacortes site just now and shows zero, when this morning it showed 32. Beats me what's going on with their inventory or internet guru....weird.

Picked mine up yesterday, LGS where I had it shipped to has a indoor range, After filling out the paper work, I ran a boresnake down the bore, and ran 200 rnds through it No problems... I've already ordered some LOK grips, and some goodies from CGW, These things are wonderful shooters, and with a good belt and holster, would make a excellent CCW. My only complaint is that I wish CZ would step into the 21st century and upgrade the sights, putting a couple of dovetails in the slide can't be THAT hard.... Anyway I figured since these were a one time deal, I should probably get one, I figure the chances of seeing an offer like this again is probably about nil..

Mags are the same. I haven't done it but you can open it up and flip the magazine release to be lefty. You may want a different safety lever as they are pretty thin on this one. If you get it and that's the case just ask and I'll point you to the one you need.

Mr. Gun Dealer still has them for $509: http://www.mrgundealer.com/product.cz-usa-99021-cz-75-compact-9mm-rail-steel-frame-manual-safety-8067039902-29-1047

Still around: https://www.slickguns.com/search/apachesolr_search/806703990217?view=list

Plus, many, many that are not listed including CZ Custom (https://czcustom.com/new-firearms/cz-pistols-factory/75-b-compact-rail.html), Oak Hill Guns (http://oakhillguns.com/pistol/cz-usa/cz-75-9mm-compact-rail.html)... on and on...

I still would pick one up now if you want one... you know as they dry up the prices will increase... I'm so close to picking one up! :)

long time lurker, took me nearly 4 hours to read through this thread, and i ended up buying one. many thanks to Scarlett Pistol (you caused me to lose money!).

this will be my first CZ. i thought i might be more comfortable with a decocker, but i figured, hey, its a decent price for great features.

i bought it from RifleGear.com, and intend to pricematch through my credit card to Mr. Gun Dealer. hope to hit $520 after FFL. i think that's a great value for any quality pistol let alone a CZ!

will have to go back through this thread carefully again and learn the anatomy, and all the tips and tricks for optimizing the firearm.

thank you all

great! thanks, I was pretty sure it would be the same, and I think grip panels are the same as the compact/pcr/p-01 as well so I can replace with some rosewood ones if I like, correct?

I actually wouldn't change the mag release, I'm so used to be a lefty in a righty world that I drop the mag with my left index finger on every gun so it would seem weird to do it the "normal" way

as for the safety. is it easy to swap to a bigger ambi safety button if I think they're too thin? or require some fitting like 1911s?

EDIT: I made the plunge, picked one up from Mrgundealer for $539.98 shipped (my FFL does a $15 transfer fee) soooooooooo stinking excited!

Mrgundealer.com is now down to 5 in stock after I made my order and everyone else seems to be nearly out too

I got swept up in the excitement...after seeing Bill Hicks stock drop to zero I figured I'd better find one and buy it.
I've wanted a Compact L since I saw them but they've become too rich for my blood when I can find a used one. This will have to fill that gap I guess. I have no doubt that I'll like it, but was wanting the lighter weight of the Compact L and I don't like the P-01 decocker after trying one out.
By the way....MrGunDealer has them at $509 right meow.

Correct

It's a pretty easy swap. Normally CZ safeties don't require fitting, but the right side safety on these is pretty tight. That being said you would only need to replace the right side safety since you're lefty... So you may not to do any fitting. If so it is easy. I can send you to a thread with all the info along with a video about it.

Congratulations! Dang this tax season stuff sure drives demand. They may dry up faster than I thought. Glad I have 2 already!! [emoji48] Anyways, the thread is long so if you have questions you can ask or message me. There's references to threads testing the impact of upgrades, total disassembly and reassembly videos, the thread on safeties, and a bunch more info buried in here somewhere.

Ha, I was the same way. Started watching for the Compact L and they were just so pricey. That's a spanking good price, congratulations! Let us know how it shoots when you get it!
