After 70 pages, I think I'm finally warming up to this gun.  When do you think the next batch will come out?  Got money now for a traditional compact (all steel) in stainless!  C'mon CZ -- screw that striker fired fad and extend the stainless offerings to the compacts!

I'd have gobbled one of these up long ago for sure if it came in stainless!

supposedly it's a one off run that was created for an Asian/European client who stiffed them on the bill. Then they got liquidated here in the states
Correct. Unless CZ sees how well these sold and decides to make more, then you'll have to find one that is left or post a WTB thread... Lol I'm super impressed when people read this whole thread!

PCR's are pretty awesome from what I hear! If I ever get a decocker it will be a PCR. May the force guide you in your decision!

Happy to have found this thread. I was looking at buying the P-01, but decided on this "SP-01 Compact" because it is mainly going to be in my car instead of being carried. I figured the extra weight of the steel frame was a good thing. So I bought one about a week ago off GunBroker.com and picked it up from my FFL dealer a couple days ago.

It's only my second CZ (P-09 the first), both of which I got around the same time. I've been reading about CZs for years but no one near me carries CZs. I finally had to resort to online sellers. I won't be able to shoot either until Saturday, but boy...I can already tell they're quality! Solid, tight, and ergonomic. My FFL dealer kept remarking about how good the gun felt in his hand. Maybe if I buy a few more CZs (likely given what I've read here so far) then they'll become a dealer!

Thanks! I took the compact and the P-09 out to the range today (well, really my friend's back property). I haven't had an all steel gun since I sold my AMT Backup years ago. Let's just say the 75 D Compact shot a helluva lot better! The P-09 really impressed me in the accuracy and follow-up shot categories. I was hitting a steel silhouette at about 50 yards. And it just seemed to snap back in place after every shot. It makes me want to try a full size CZ 75.

Holy cow, how cool would a stainless railed compact be?  I think I'd just about sell a kidney for one should they make it.  They could do it if they wanted.  Make a thousand of them and they'll sell out quickly.

Metal framed guns in car, there is much less concern about heating and cooling negatively affecting the weapon's structural integrity as well.  In TX heat, that's always a concern of mine w/ polymer framed weapons...

Guys, you're seeing boogers in your oatmeal.  I've never seen evidence of a plastic pistol melting or cracking due to temperature extremes.  I have seen, or shall I say felt, first hand evidence that steel is significantly heavier than plastic or aluminum, which is why they exist as options.

I think the melting point of a polymer pistol frame is fairly high (like >400 degrees), but I have had some cheap plastic things warp in my car on a hot day. So I can understand the concern. I do wonder how the rubber grips would fair. Could they get hot enough to be squishy? I won't know because I'm replacing them anyway with some G-10 grips.

If I recall correctly, FN had a pistol that had issues with the frame warping due to heat and Glocks have the condition known as "pig nose" which can come from the factory or result from heat during use.
