LOL - I thought about having that finish done while my "SP-01 Compact" was there, but I guess I was too anxious to get it back ASAP after the "long" wait and didn't want to add more time on top of it. Guess I should have done then. The SP-01 could be another candidate though...and it is still there. Hmmmm

Don't call and ask David about his experiences with Hard Chrome and why he thinks having the electroles Nickel under the Hard Chrome is even better. If you do you'll want it for every gun you own! Trust me, I am struggling with this problem now. I just need a lot more $$$$ then I'll be happy!  O0

I was looking for a black finish, and I had narrowed it down to either a black nitride finish, or black hard chrome..I e mailed David, who explained to me that the black hard chorme wasn't very durable, so I went with black nitride. I have a g19 I carried for about 3yrs , many times in the summer I've sweat all over it. To this day, there's no rust on it except for the aftermarket rear sight which does rust up, if I don't keep a eye on it. One nice thing about nitride, is you can do the barrel inside and out. Honestly, I wish CZ would offer some options  for finishes besides polycoat, which at this point in time, I'm not real impressed with...

Agree on the poly coat....My steel compact is 3 months old and a leather IWB holster has started to wear through to the steel in two small spots on the sharp lines. Oiled up I may not notice it. Nitride seems the way to go.

I had one of my aluminum framed HiPowers finished in hard chrome.  The frame was finished in nickel first so that the hard chrome would adhere to it.  Before and after...

You are correct.  It looks great.

Was finally able to take my SP-01 compact to the range this weekend and this is an accurate little pistol. One thing I did notice is the frame and grip area do get nice and warm after firing around 100 rounds out of it.

I got to handle one locally a couple days back.  The safety levers were smaller than I'd like, but otherwise a nice gun.  It might make a good starting point for a single stack compact if CZ ever goes in that direction.

Fired mine in a local competition today. Great little pistol except for the sights. I need to do something about those.

To those who have converted one of these to SAO, are you happy with it?

I received my slide from CGW today, had them install the 310-221Trijicon night sights. Sight picture is awesome. Didn't get a chance to shoot it, but can't stop drawing and dry firing. Probably not what you're looking for since you're shooting comp, but thought I'd share. Here's a link to a few pictures. DP Trijicon Night Sights Set https://imgur.com/a/b40GO

I believe CGW received my slide on 06-22-17 and it was back in my mailbox on 07-01-17. I was originally told the wait time would be two weeks so I was pleasantly surprised.

Haha you say that now but you would of likely been sucked into all the upgrades for it too.

I wanted mine with a lighter trigger to rival any 1911. It's breaking at 1 lb 15 Oz now. I think it dropped from staking the sear cage more than break in though... Normally the Race Hammer doesn't break that light.

Oh wow, that sounds fantastic! How much weight did you drop in staking the sear cage? Did you have CGW do some work on your hammer hooks by chance?
