Like what happened to several other people, reading this near-world-record thread pushed me over the edge on purchasing a 99021 a month ago.

Not sure if I should thank or blame the OP for this, but I'm going to go with "thank" because I've really enjoyed shooting mine, even if it is (still) completely stock.  Whether I eventually have it Cajunized, fiddle with it myself, or leave it as-is remains to be seen.  What does NOT remain to be seen is whether that purchase will cause me to acquire any more CZ products, which I can neither confirm nor deny having done at this point.   ;)

I knew that the 99021 was special due to its all-steel construction and being a non-catalogue item, but I keep procrastinating on the purchase because I really didn't need another gun (yes, I know that's a fallacy, but avoiding more acquisitions of this type of item is like trying to lose weight).  I saw these slowly go out of stock at Bud's and other web sites a few months ago, so figured they were gone and thus I would be "safe".  Then (about a month ago) I happened to notice that K-Var still had them in stock, when nobody else did anymore.  So I got one and really like it so far.  About a week after I got mine, K-Var finally showed out of stock, so I lucked out.

That's my story - so far.
If it's popular, I'm against it.

Good call on snagging one from K-Var! Im glad your enjoying it, lol because I'm sure I'd be getting? the blame one way or the other. You can even blame me if you cajunize it, even a little. Welcome aboard to the CZ realm and always feel free to ask questions, that's what we're here for.

Your reasons for buying are very close to mine, except I'm a sucker for oddites like these. Last week it happened again, I traded a g19 for a  NIB HK USPcompact even up. This too is a oddity, as it was also made for a contract for some enity who, for some reason did'nt take delievery. Pistol is odd in as  much as it has a LEM trigger with ambi saftey levers. It was definitely made for the Euro market as it came with a serial numbered factory test target, something U.S. bound HK's don't come with. (whoever shot the target was no slouch either, 5rnds into 1 1/2" at 15meters) I wish I could shoot that well. Anyway, I love odd ball pistols like this. I can't wait for my SP-01 compact to get back from CGW.  Reading this thread, it seems that they take to mods well.  One thing I really wish CZ would change, is the beavertail on the rest of the compacts so that they were upswept like the SP-01 compact's are, they feel so much better, you can get a much better grip, everyone who I let shoot it commented on that.

Good news for me today as last night I got a call from CGW, my frame, barrel, and slide, got back from getting black ntirided. According to Mike at CGW,  they were impressed with how the parts turned out, They wanted to know if there was anything else I wanted to do before they reassembled  my pistol, and I told them yes there was. I'm going to get a stainless ring hammer and a  new sear, and since I already had everything in the short reset kit installed, except the short lifter arm, to go ahead and install that too, and finally polish everything, and we should be good to go, with a little luck, I should have it back next week.

So this has been a little ongoing story in other threads, and I blame this partly on those threads and members. I'm going up into bear country and can't open carry for a good deal of the places, so I am selling my 12 gauge and got a 10mm. Got the closest thing to a CZ I could.

Why share here? Because I couldn't help but get the grips to match my little girls future pistol.... Here they are together, my SP-01 Compact and Witness Hunter. They both are accurate as can be and wonderful to shoot!

"Bear country"- right!  We all know you are going to shoot that hand-cannon at your next USPSA match!    ;D

Haha I'll video the day that happens. But I wouldn't think twice about running that little SP-01 Compact in a match against full sized pistols. I just need a holster... Maybe I'll get one next month and do just that.

I keep resisting, but -

those red red grips are really .... "gripping" me.

I might have to break down and get them.

Scarlett - are you running the stock rear sights with the FO front? The one thing I don't like about this pistol is the stock sight setup

I am. I agree the stock front sight is terrible. The rear sight dots are so weak that I don't mind them. I like a blacked out rear though. If you want brighter dots you cold drop white paint into the holes in the rear sight. I actually really like the stock rear sights for their shape. No real sharp edges, has a front ledge (not that I am that tactical, but it's nice to have) and mine have been tough. But I realize I am probably in the minority.

My POI has shifted up a little from the CGW Bushings on 2 of my pistols with them. So if you put that in, you may want to order a front sight after you see if the POI changes. CGW or the members here know how to figure out the front sight height to adjust for a change in POI.

Interesting.... I posted in the SP-01 section that my POI changed after installing the 10x bushing and the feedback I got was that my red dot must have moved....

Thanks for the sight info. Not going to be a carry gun for me so I'll probably change out the rear but will start with just the front and go from there.

Got another call from CGW today, my pistol was completed, and being shipped!!! And this came as a little suprise, David told me that the control levers were also black nitrided!  Slide stop,  and saftey levers plus the mag release. I was'nt expecting that, as I thought they may have been too small. The DA trigger pull if I remember correctly is now 7.1 lbs and the SA trigger pull is I believe 3.4-3.5 I'm not sure, but it should be great..I can't wait to get this back and start shooting it.
