SAR K2P: Broken Rear Sight
« on: October 21, 2016, 09:14:23 PM »
So I picked up lightly used SAR K2P tonight. I get it home and during the process of adjusting the rear sight I broke off the top vertical flathead adjustment screw :-[ I sent an email out to EAA to find out if I can order a replacement rear sight. So currently the K2P cannot be aimed. Has anyone had to order a replacement rear sight or other parts from EAA? How hard is it to obtain parts?

Have not ordered parts from EAA in about a decade, but I would hope that there would not be too much trouble with things like sights.
Please let us know what they have to say about it.

I should add to my post that the broken sight was self inflicted and not related to the quality of the gun at all. It is a fantastic gun for he money!!!

I had a problem mag and contacted EAA and they had a new one out to me in a week. I was very happy with their customer service.

Is the screw stuck down in the sight? A drill bit and screw extractor from any big box should get you fixed up right away.

Only thing would be if EAA can ship out a new screw only or does it have to be the entire rear sight.

Well I heard back from Kristy at EAA and she stated my only option was to purchase a new rear site which are $55 and made by LPA. It would seem that the adjustable sight works on both the Witness and K2P. She provided the following link:

This seems to be the LPA model# for the sight:

I used to be a spender. The last economic collapse and subsequent retirement has made me look hard when I spend money now. Are you certain that screw cant be had at the local big box. I know they have trays of specialty screws which is usually just odd ball threads.

Dont know if this is helpful

Appreciate the reply. I ended up just ordering the rear sight. I figured $65 with shipping isn't that horrible and it could of been worse.
