P07 Firing Pin?
« on: November 13, 2016, 02:20:49 PM »
I would like to upgrade to the nicer CGW roller, reduced power trigger return spring and the HS-18 hammer spring in my P-07.  I have done all of the polishing recommended except for the firing pin block (I want to order the new roll pin first) and the DA is still incredible gritty and jerky.

With the HS-18 Hammer Spring, it's recommended to use the reduced power firing pin spring, which says it's for the extended firing pin, so do I need to change out the firing pin as well or will the factory firing pin and the reduced power firing pin spring work for the HS-18 Hammer Spring?  Thanks!

It's best to change springs in "sets" so you will know they all work well together. Plus reduces the change of light strikes. Here is what I would recommend:

61040 P series extended firing pin
HS18 Hammer Spring
RPFPBS (Reduced power firing pin block spring)

Those parts will get you a better DA and keep your ignition 100%

Thanks
Scott

Just something to throw out there as well. In the tuning thread he mention that the trigger bar spring is way over tensioned from the factory and causes part of the stacking that you feel in the DA. You can bend it down a little to take some of the load off of the bar to help fix that issue. That was on the first page of his polishing guide. Hope that helps!

I did that when I got the gun and also beveled the end of the spring; it had some burrs that dragged across the frame.  I installed the short reset kit, HS 18#, heavier natural color sear spring, new roller, reduced TRS, reduced firing pin safety plunger spring and tried the moly lube.  What a difference!  Much cleaner racking the slide and the trigger is very nice.   Very happy with the parts!!

I am still shooting high, even with lighter/faster ammo,so I ordered a 6.5mm tall sight.
