Broken Sear Pin..
« on: December 15, 2016, 02:18:55 AM »
Greetings,

I was cleaning my P07 and I noticed that the sear looked crooked or canted. It did not look right to me so I decided to take it apart and found this..

Is this normal or has anyone seen this?

I've never seen or read of that happening before.  I couldn't break one in to 3 pieces like that if I tried.  Replace the pin and keep shooting is all I can say.  Maybe someone who has seen many more than me can respond.

The good news is that it was still firing the entire time ;D. I contacted CZ and just waiting for their response.

This is a little short of the detailed technical analysis of metallurgy and manufacturing techniques for the sear pin than I was expecting from the fellow who has probably examined more of these P series parts than anyone!!

I interpret Schmeky's reponse to mean, "No, never seen that before, ain't common, unique to you and your pistol, get a replacement pin, and never look back."  Actually, that is kinda what I was hoping the conclusion would be.

No offense to the OP but have you ever dropped the hammer without the slide installed?

Excellent observation!!   I think Winkel should get a gold star.

Joe,

Technical analysis - the long, metal thing-a-ma-jiggy is busted and may need replacement.

No never. I don't even release the slide if there no round in the magazine.
