Cajun Gun Works 97B "E" Titanium is Home!
« on: January 01, 2017, 05:04:07 PM »
*02/26/17 - Update on next page. I finally got to shoot this one*  :)

Happy Holidays Everyone! I hope you all had a good season

I wanted to share another CGW beauty that just got home. This was my X-Mas present to myself and I could not be happier! I haven't shot it yet but plan on getting to the range in the next couple of weeks. Been busy with the family otherwise I would have gone today. I sent this guy off at the end of September and started saving my pennies. This is my 4th Cajunized gun so I had a good idea what I wanted to do with it. After a 3 month wait, I ended up with the following at a cost of just over $1136 (& worth every day waited and every penny spent!):

  • E - Conversion w/ 1911 Style Barrel Bushing
  • Pro Package for all the Cajun Spice!
  • Single Action Only Conversion w/ 6SAO Trigger
  • LPA Adjustable Rear Sight / Fiber Optic Front
  • Frame Cerakoted in Titanium
  • Shadow Extended Safety
  • Shadow Extended Slide Release
  • Shadow Extended Magazine Release
  • Stainless Steel Guide Rod
  • G10 Grips

I haven't shot it yet but I am sure it will be incredible, I'll have an update afterwards. I still need to get out and shoot my SP01 Black Shadow a bit more as well, just no time with the holidays.

Ok, onto the pictures! The color looks more bronze here than it really is, just the lighting I guess.

You can see the extended mag release a bit better here. They take an SP01 extended release and grind it to fit the 97B for a few extra bucks. I love how it feels and would say to definitely get this done if you have a 97.

The trigger ended up at 2 pounds, 8 ounces and has almost no take up. 1mm of reset means the thing hardly moves from beginning to end. I have this same set up on 2 other CGW guns and love it.

I went with a different rear sight on this one just to try something new. I'll report back on how it compares to the Shadow Target that I have on my other guns but it looks great.

Just a beautiful gun all around. I can't wait to try it out. Thanks again to David and Scott for another awesome CGW build, you guys are the best!

Wow! That is an outstanding pistola! Beautiful. Let us know how she shoots.

I'm not sure, CGW sold them to me. If you like them call or email CGW to get a pair. I think they were $40.

Very, very nice!  I would love to be able to take that out to the range and shoot it for an afternoon. 8)

Wow! just an outstanding looking gun. bar none. Gotta get one of those someday!  can you please measure and post a picture of the overall thickness of the grip area? meaning a pict from behind the gun? with a measurement to detail width?  please?

thanks,

Ill give it a shot for you. The g10 grips are pretty thin, maybe just a hair thicker than the thin aluminum ones.

Ok, without having a caliper, I did measure it out to just a hair less than 1 and 3/16 of an inch. As I mentioned the grips feel fairly thin and similar to the aluminum ones that it had.
