I bought the "SP-01 compact" knowing full well that I would not carry it because of its weight. I actually wanted a full size SP-01, but there were none in stock at the time and the compact was too good to pass up.
That's my thought... I want an alloy framed compact for potential carry, but it's so tempting to pick up such a nice limited run steel compact before they're gone! The steel one for me would be a range toy or for HD.
I got one of the SP-01 Compacts because I wanted a safety version. It's heavy but I loved shooting it so much I got a second just because they'll never make them again. Then I started carrying it because I was enjoying shooting it so much and shoot it well. It's heavy and not what I would recommend for carry for most people, but it's just left me with no choice.
Here's my first 3 CZ's and then I added the second SP-01 Compact.
I've since converted the second SP-01 Compact to SAO. I'm working it to be the trigger that kills 1911's. It's just about there... I need a new pic, here's one before the conversion.
Anyways, as long as you know what you're getting into the SP-01 Compacts are a fantastic limited run pistol!
