Help with interchanging parts and pieces.

Have a FIE "ULTRA IPSC" in 41 AE long ported slide, i am trying to change calibers.  Have what appears to be a standard slide [FIE], probably from a 9mm, and a 40 cal. barrel either is CZ or EAA. Barrel fits the standard slide just fine both fit the receiver just fine but will not hand cycle with 40 ammo. Appears that either slide doesn't fit case head correctly or extractor is wrong.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Don't know the answer.  It may be a CZ barrel.  If so, that would explain the issue.

Witness barrels on their newer guns are designed so that .40 and 9mm are interchangeable and will function with the same extractor, etc.  Older Tanfolgios would generally do so with a 9mm Tan barrel or a .41 AE barrel on a gun originally set up for .41 AE -- but I'm not sure about a  .40 barrel.

If its a CZ barrel, headspace will probably NOT be right, and shooting it would arguably be unsafe.  I don't know about a .40 Witness barrel...

The 41 rim diameter was the same as a 9mm, rebated to allow for interchange of calibers on the 9mm platform.  You will likely only be able to switch between 41 and 9mm without further modification of the gun.  I recall that many Tanfoglios in that era shipped with 9 and 41 barrels.  I have a 41 barrel laying around here somewhere I think...
