2003 EAA Witness Gold Team 45 ACP

Hi,  I have a chanace to buy a NIB EAA Witness Gold Team 45 ACP pistol.  It has a blue finish rather than the new chrome finish (so it's not as pretty).  The dealer had used it to show in gun shows and had put it in the warehouse and forgotten they had it until one of the guys came across it while looking for something else.  He said it was identical to the new current Gold Team pistols except for the finish and that he would sell it to me for $900.  I thought that was kind of high for a 3 year old gun that had been sitting in a warehouse for that length of time.
I have a decision to make since I have a 9mm Witness Elite Limited on order and reall like that gun, but I'm not sure what to do now.  That Gold Team is a REALLY nice gun even if it is a 45 and has a blue finish. :rollin   Darn! I enjoy shooting both the 9's and 45's and can't justify both. :rolleyes

Has Tanfoglio made any changes/improvements, upgrades, etc. to that model during the past 3 years?  I'm impressed with the Gold Team model with all it's features, but still not sure about that year and price.  I think if I could get it for $650 or 700 I might be tempted.  I guess it has a little scratch on the side where they had a red dot mounted for the gun shows as well.
I would appreciate hearing what you guy's think of the gun and the deal?

Thanks,

That is too high.  Your instincts are right.  It is an older gun and I understand they have made changes (such as finish for one) , although not having a Gold Team I am not sure exactlly what.  Furthermore it is in 45 ACP, and thus largely useless for competition.  I never understood why EAA wasted time importing such guns in calibers that are not appropriate for IPSC.  There is a reason the dealer has the gun still, but I doubt it is because he "forgot" it.
