Any parts of the CZ85B I should oil?
« on: March 16, 2017, 10:15:28 AM »
I recently bought a CZ85b. I'm curious, after I clean the gun, should I put a drop of grease or oil anywhere besides the rails? Someone one told me I should put a drop of oil on the two little, sideways springs.

After I clean my 85 Combat I oil everything that moves. Trigger pin, I'm not talking about enough to splatter all over. One drop from a precision oiler with 5w20 synthetic motor oil.

When oil stops appearing on the outside after shooting, I oil it again. I don't necessarily clean my range guns after each use, and might oil in between.

I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.

If it slides or pivots, oil it, especially the frame rails/slide rails and locking lugs on the barrel and in the roof of the slide. I use Mobil 1 0W20.

LUBE very lightly,  not dripping.  For me,  all of these might add up to 4 full drops,  but I wipe down any excess that seeps out. :
Trigger pin and spring
Trigger bar:  against the slide & a tiny bit in the groove on the bottom of the two legs
Mag release
Bbl Lugs
Slide bbl lugs
Bbl lugs
Recoil spring friction areas
Slide rails
Safety Pin
Slide release at frame contact points
Hammer pin & on friction areas
Hammer Spring rod
Sear friction surfaces

My Opinion:
DON'T oil/ LUBE:
Mags
Firing pin or F.P. channel
Extractor channel,  but do clean it with gun solvent periodically (lubes a wee bit)
