CZ 455 trigger / sear polishing

I am going to enter the Huntsman Senior Games Benchrest competition this year, here in Utah. My most accurate 455 so far has been my Evolution .22lr, so I intend to use that one. The only mods they allow is to polish the trigger surfaces. (I bought a yo Dave kit, but that isn't allowed in my class). Has anyone had experience in polishing those surfaces? If so what did you use? How fine? Just polish / compound? How well did it work? I just want to take out a little creep, I have adjusted the weight of the trigger as far as it will go, it's at about 2.5 pounds. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Do you have the rules regarding what is allowed?

It says Trigger work is allowed but must be limited to polishing the surfaces and normal adjustment. Otherwise it must be stock rifle, no other mods.

I have no FHE in polishing those surfaces.

Polishing the sear won't reduce creep.

You can do a fluff and buff job on the bolt and firing pin, inside and out, basically breaking it in. May not help a lot but everything helps.

A friend of mine has a 455 . Right out of the box we noticed the trigger pull seemed pretty good but , it felt like something was dragging during the pull . After about 30 rds . we decided to clean the trigger up a little. It was very dirty all around the trigger and other moving parts. We disassembled it , cleaned everything and used some 1200 grit paper to lightly clean all edges and flat surfaces too. Finished up with a little polishing compound and reassembled. Great improvement and really smoothed out the trigger movement and even eased the pull weight a little. Well worth it time and effort.

All the little things that are done really do have a good results. The flat bottom of the firing pin is also a good candidate for a polish,the pin must be removed to do that.The goal is to improve these mating surfaces with time spent in polishing with moderation.There are some good articles out there if you use dr google. The result is to smooth any surfaces to reduce all the little vibrations that can occur when you fire the gun.
