Just being a smart ass  ;D

Like you said, people like different things, to each his own. Guys bash the 16" carbine for all kinds of reasons, people bash braces, now fake cans, and so on. At the end of the day if you like it what's it matter .

Yeap - no matter what the hobby, internet forums will always attract the most polarized zealots on either end of the spectrum, lol.

I went with "not."  I don't like the fake cans on Uzis either for example, makes me feel poserish.  (I still like the look though.)

I call it "Stop Liking What I Don't Like Syndrome"...

My state regulates SBR's on top of federal regulations.  We're limited to a minimum OAL of 29", so a "stocked" pistol is out of the question and I have ZERO interest in arm braces.  I purchased my carbine with the faux suppressor because thats what was available, flash hiders are banned and muzzle brakes are questionable in my state.

I had limited interest in owning a PCC and no interest in CZ products until this carbine came out.  I made my decision to purchase a Scorpion carbine after seeing a YT video demonstrating a complete diassembly of a pistol version.  Seeing how "simple" they are, I made my purchase. I spent $20 for a take-off pistol handguard to create my "faux" suppressed SBR purely as an exersize and decided I like it.  The carbine handguard can be switched back in five minutes or less.

The best we can do in my state is the pistol version with the KAK flash can and a stock, which my FFL now offers as an SBR for about the same price as a 16" carbine, but its not worth another $200 to me to save 5"or 6"...

Fake can will seem cool until you get laughed at when others hear it fire and it's not suppressed or when someone else shows up with a real suppressed Scorpion haha!

If it goes "boom" or "vroom" I'm intersted.

Get which ever is available.
I got the fake can since it was the only carbine in stock in my area, they had lots of pistols.

Not exactly. I like hookers and blow and according to my wife, if I get either... it will matter.

Spousal opinions are certainly exempt from that rule :D

I hear ya. I also wrestled with that choice. I like the look of the faux suppressor but, faux means fake, so. I went with the pencil barrel. I would like a nose cap to help cover the open hole at the end of my gun some time in the future. Looks like I could have some mice living in there one day. Haha. I have no want or need to suppress this range gun in the near future and like the longer barrel for better velocity and accuracy. My first choice was the faux gun also. The pencil barrel seems to be less expensive and more readily available also. The flash suppressor looks very modern and well made also.

I went into the LGS expecting to walk out with the fake can version but came out with the other.  Fake can unbalanced the weapon *for me.  The "void" isn't as appalling when there isn't a white background.

The fake can is just a placeholder, so you can buy a firearm set up as close as possible to your desired end result.

I'll bet that elements of this debate also happened amongst the product managers at CZ, who probably recognized if they offered just one option or the other, that they would be criticized and lose some sales.

The "faux" can is highly suggestive of the configuration that many people aspire to, whether they will actually get the tax stamps or not.

On the other hand, while the pencil barrel might look more utilitarian but less cool, I would note that SCARs are noted for having pencil barrels, and I've never felt any anxiety about how my SCARs look - or perform.

Having said all that, I would go for the EVO with the faux suppressor - if I didn't already have an EVO that is set up the way I want.
If it's popular, I'm against it.
