Mwuhhhuh huh hu 9mak now 32
« on: July 18, 2017, 02:09:24 AM »
Well so,  ;D ordered a 32 magazine and barrel for one of my 82s months ago.  Lathed a drop in bushing to take the slack from the difference between the 9mms mak  barrel and 32 barrel.  And the 32 barrel came long chambered so I trimmed that a bit,cut a feed ramp and extractor cut.  And just tested it a few shots.  It is stiffer then Stifflers mom but I think it will shoot in.  So barring some unforeseen tragic event, I am in the 32cap cz 82 game.

How difficult is it to remove the barrel? I'm looking at an 82 with bulged barrel for pretty cheap. I would like to be able to do it myself and keep the costs low as i would have to refinish the firearm and get some mags.

In for more details. I'm trying to find another 32 acp CZ 83. This *might* be cheaper.

To remove the old barrel, I turned a few parts and concocted  a mini press.  Hardest part was drilling out the old barrel pin. I bulged the old barrel right there and had to drill the rest of the pin out.  There is no removable bushing so I turned one to fit the inside of the slide and outside of the new under diameter barrel.  Still haven't run any extra rounds threw it yet though. For some reason I can only log on here with my hard to see kindle.

jdubya87, if you are still looking for a cz 83 .32 acp, I found this one on Armslist while looking for mine (and yes I found one!) - it's been up for a month or better, not sure how secure Armslist is, but thought I'd pass it on.

Went out yesterday and ran 100+ pleasant, failure free rounds threw my converted pistol.  So I guess I should try moving the sites to the point of aim next time I'm out. 😊  Ammo was privi fmj  and Herters fmj. 😁

Can you post some pics of the bushing you fabricated and how it's installed on the gun?

Photo bucket killed the interwebs or I sure would. The bushing fits the inside of the slide ahead of the recoil spring and the barrel of course goes through it.
