OK, I'll be happy to add a few words about the hammer guns...

Having successfully competed in bullseye matches with polymer hammer fired P-09 and P-07 CZ's, I can say they are still my favorite polymer pistol.  But I had to warm up to them over a bunch of rounds and several go rounds of CGW parts.  And lots of Sugru and JB-Weld.  Yes, I also have a striker fired CZ polymer pistol now, but the trigger pull is so different from the P-09/07 that I cannot just pick it up and shoot it well.  After I got the P-09/07 pistols modified to fit my hands, I was able to shoot them very well.  I can still pick up the P-09 or P-07 after not shooting one for a few weeks, and shoot it very well after just a few rounds, or some dry fire the night before the range trip.  I can't do that with the striker yet.  I am confident that CGW will take care of my needs for a lighter, smoother trigger pull.  I can shoot the P-09/07 pretty darn well almost every time I take them out to the range.

The accuracy potential of the P-09/07 is phenomenal, even for bullseye matches.  But the weight is on the low side for single hand standing bullseye matches on a windy day in West Texas.  And the holes are small compared to a 97.  I've gone back to the 97 as a centerfire bullseye gun, not because the 97 is more accurate (they are very close), but because the 97 is better suited for that discipline than any light weight 9mm pistol, even the extensively demonstrated as very accurate P-09 or P-07.  (I think the accuracy potential of the P-10C striker gun will equal the P-07 once the trigger pull is optimized, just like I did with CGW parts in the P-09/07.)

By this time next year, I expect the striker gun improvements will make the CZ striker a great option for folks who aren't limiting themselves to pistols with a hammer and sear.  Or, in other words, by this time next year, I expect the folks that like their P-09/07 pistols will still have them and love them, but they may have also tried the alternate CZ offering and concluded that there is a place for a really good, rugged, very accurate, simple, striker fired CZ also.   Specifically, for those new shooters who aren't interested in or familiar with a DA/SA hammer fired pistol and would otherwise be lost to ... heaven forbid, a G19!

For me personally,  I would be excited about a single stack version of a hammer sear CZ pistol and maybe even a CZ  striker fired version.  Not all pistols needed are comp./range versions.  Thin, low bore axis and with CZ 75 characteristic grip angle  carry pistols "with CZ support and options"  would have me looking for my wallet.

I second the vote for a poly framed single stack DA/SA small pistol from CZ.

I shot my P-07 in a GADPA Match yesterday. (http://gadpa.wildapricot.org/).

I shot in the Concealed Carry division. I finished 14/37 in my division and 34/74 overall. A 10 second hit when I nipped the head of a non shoot cost me seven places overall but that is how it goes.

It was a brutally hot day and I was also running a squad as a Safety Officer and shooting also. I had also spent five hours Saturday morning helping to set up for the match and I was a little stiff and sore from carrying walls and steel and driving rebar.

My accuracy was good but I need to shoot a little faster but still as one of the oldest shooters participating, I will take it.

I give most of the credit to the smooth shooting P-07 hammer gun!

Another great P-07 report from an old guy!!  Which reminds me, I'm going to the doctor in an hour.  A few days in the mountains got to me.   :) :)

That's awesome!  I know all those things really add up.  Just think how you'll do next time when you're fresh.
If I know I'm going to do some shooting on a Friday afternoon, I'll skip coffee in the afternoon.  I only drink soda on the weekends and I can definitely feel a pronounced 'jerk' if I've had a couple.

As long as the stock is long enough that my pinky finger isn't resting on a thick magazine floor plate I'm in; otherwise I'd pass.

So we are still stuck in a sub forum with a gun that has little to do with the P07/09?
