P-10 test drive and sights
« on: July 31, 2017, 03:08:31 PM »
I got my P-10 in and took it for a test drive.  Only a couple of mags worth.   Drive went pretty smooth.  No issues with the grip.  Might add Talon grips down the road.  Also no issues with the trigger or the dingus, but as I said, only a couple of mags through it so far.

The sights are the only part that might or might not need some work.  I like these factory sights better than the factory 75 sights and was able to keep everything in about a 4" group at 10 yards.  But, I am used to a front FO sight, which is what I run on most of my other CZs.

Anyone changed out their P-10 sights yet?  If so, what did you use and how do you like them?  Not planning on adding night sights to it, but might do something else.

I'm running a CZ Custom Shadow HTAC rear and Dawson P-09 .205 tall fiber front: http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=90188.0

Are the front sights the same height on the P-10's or are they different?

P-10 uses the same front dovetail as the P-07 & P-09.  My factory front is marked "#3" and is .150" tall measured from the slide surface to the top of the blade.  If you wanted to replace just the front sight, Dawson has a .155" fiber front in stock that should be close enough. https://dawsonprecision.com/cz-p09-fiber-optic-front-sights/

I believe the #2 sights are 5.5mm tall including the dovetail.  5.5 mm = 0.217 inches.  The P-10 dovetail is .070" deep, so a Dawson .147" tall would match.  I only see .135" and .155" in stock their webstore.  They would raise (.135") or lower (.155") your group about 1" at 25 yards.

CZ Custom sells 5.5mm P-07/09/10 sights as well in fiber and tritium. https://czcustom.com/cz-parts-all/front-and-rear-sights/front-sight/p07-p09-fo-f-s-1-0-x-5-5mm-x-125.html

Also, CGW but I don't know if it matches the #2 or #3 front: https://cajungunworks.com/product/p-0709-fiber-optic-front-sight/

I certainly like the factory sites on the P-10c over the PCR's, but I agree that there is just something missing.

I'd love to go w/ a fiber optic front, but (in my opinion) that would not bode well for a CCW.  Perhaps blacking out the rear dots would help?  As far as the front site goes, I'm tempted to fill in the front dot w/ chartreuse nail polish for a ghetto-fabulous temporary work-around.

What would be wrong with fiber optics for CCW

... nothing wrong, per se.  In my opinion and w/ my personal experiences, the rods break once in a while from a lot of draw practice and usage at the range.  This might not be a problem for others, but it is something I have noticed along the way on my pistols.
