USPSA ready!
« on: August 26, 2017, 07:11:39 PM »
Ammo made, Mags loaded, gun cleaned. Can't wait for my local USPSA match tomorrow morning.

Good luck to all this weekend shooting. Whether it's for fun, or for competition, or whatever. Best of luck!

What!? Reloading is fun! What are you talking about lol?

Once I get my Form 1 back from the ATF for my Scorpion I'll be PCC ready. Submitted it back in February. So I'm sure I'm still a ways away. Busy keeping my fingers crossed that once they get through July's Form submissions it'll speed up.

I just put 2 and 2 together lol. Are you getting rained out by Hurricane Harvey? If so, I hope you come out OK. I am from Florida so I know first hand how much hurricanes suck.

I think you're right.  Once they get through the period from where they changed the trust laws...wait times should theoretically drop like a rock.  The number of forms submitted third quarter 2015 until now have been pretty low, with everyone hoping the HPA would be coming through.

So far I've only shot 2 matches with my PCC.  I am positive that I am faster with my Limited gun, but PCC is just plain FUN to shoot!  I'm highly considering SBR'ing my Scorpion.  I think it would be highly advantageous in certain situations.

For example, the Match Director this month (which was me) set up a stage with targets about 160 degrees from each other.  It seemed like an eternity swinging from one to the other.  I've never shot 3-gun, but I may not be "driving" the carbine hard enough.

Yes sir, for sure. With USPSA you're only going out 50 yards max. I don't see why you need all that barrel. SBR should have significant advantages for sure.

SBR's are harder to transition crisply.  the carbine length and 18" variants are easier to swing around if a bit more bulky.  PCC national champ did it with I believe an 16 if not an 18".  Full extension of the support hand is important, apparently, but YMMV.

Thank you my friend. I'll be doing the same.  Just shot Area 8 and crapped the bed. Can't wait to get out again to erase this temporary feeling of failure.   ;)

I busted 2 stages at my local match which really brought my score down. If I would have done decent on those 2 stages I would have finished in the top 10 probably. I feel your pain. At least this was just a local match for me. Would have really sucked if it was a area match. Sorry to hear hear. Use it and learn from those mistakes.

Sage advice indeed. Shot my local yesterday and did pretty well. Still a few mistakes that shouldn't happen but hey this is about growth in skill. Looking forward to my next match already. This sport is so addictive. P.S. Here's a pic of the gat I used: Shadow Orange with LOK grips and a series of other mods.
