What spare parts to have at hand?
« on: September 04, 2017, 12:23:52 PM »
Hi all,
To follow my presentation topic http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=88943.0
Here are some questions.

Since I've bought my CZ75 D Compact, I'm still waiting for a recoil spring and spring guide rode to come...seems like CZ is SUPER slow.
I'm having feeding issues and think it's because the recoil spring has been cut (for competition uses obviously).

Since I have a relative living in the states (Hawaii), I was thinking about buying what I need on the Internet and having it shipped to his place.
He'll then send them to me with some other things (non gun related items) that are already at his place.

So :
1) He does not have any guns or whatever. Is he allowed to be delivered gun parts? He is a US citizen and lives there since 2008.
2) Will it be allowed to be sent abroad (non Itar?)

What I'd like to buy are some spares for my CZ "just in case".
Seeing how slow they are (and after months of waiting I'm still not sure I'll get them one day...), I'd like to buy parts that are "sensible".

I won't be buying spares for my last CZ70 as it is more a collectors item than a gun I use (abuse?).

The guns are illustrated on my presentation subject linked above.

I was thinking about :
recoil spring
recoil spring guide rod (plastic or metal one to go for?)
ejector (and spring)
extractor/spring
Firing pin/spring
Slide stop

What else? Is this Itar clear?

Was also wanting to add a couple of HKS speedloaders for my GP100 and 629. Itar ok too?

Where would you guys recommend me to buy the CZ parts?

My goods already at my relatives home are planned to be sent mid-september so I have to act quick.

Many thanks for your feedback/input to come.

I wonder if any export laws are in play under USA laws as well as import restrictions in France. Can you answer that statement?

A spring, pin, firing pin is ok.
A barrel, magazine, big important parts : no.
I could do it, have done it for a couple of mags, but I did have to do some paperwork with the administration here. It was relativly easy because it was done INSIDE EU...
For the US question : that?s why I'm asking here as I don't have an idea...

As i understand it here is the U.S. under Federal law, typically only one part of a pistol is regulated. This usually tends to be the frame of a pistol (serialized part) but some pistols are unique and have a different regulated part. With CZ75 variants it is the pistol frame that is regulated. All of the other parts including the barrels, slides and magazines are not regulated under Federal law. State law can be different. Some states have magazine round count limits. Hawaii seams to have 10 round magazine limits, some one please correct me if the law has changed and i am incorrect here.

As far as i am aware, aside from the frame (serialized/regulated part of the CZ75 variants) and magazines over ten rounds (Hawaii law) all of the other parts should be unregulated and purchasable by anyone regardless if they own a firearm or not.

I am not an expert on Federal/State law please verify though multiple sources and do your own research to be safe.

You are correct on the frame of a pistol , that is typically what is serialized and requires a 4473 to be filled out for sale from or through an FFL dealer . Most states have no regs on sales between individuals .
As far as the mags go I can't keep up some states are very regulated others not so much .

FFL 01 holder here .

Ok. I'll only be ordering spring/firing pin.

Would someone have a webshop to recommend (accepting Paypal or Mastercard) that is serious and fast shipping?

In my experience:

Trigger return springs.

Firing pin retainer pin.

Slide stop.
I am long winded. Ask me what my favorite gun is, I'll write you a novel. Hell, I have trouble deciding what gun to grab for when the dogs bark at night :o.

Ok so I'm doing too much with my spares list?

I heard that the slide stop was something to have. I was thinking firing pins would be a good idea too and...I may have got carried a bit over then?

I already broke a firing pin on my CZ70. But the OEM part has the reputation of being weak.
I replaced it with a Harringtons kit (life time guarantee). Wanted to avoid this.

Looking at this PDF https://shop.cz-usa.com/czpartslists/cz75BD.pdf

Trigger return springs would be part N?8?

And is this one below only one whole part :
Firing pin retainer pin part N?**  ???

or two parts :
Firing pin N?54 AND retainer pin (N?**  ??? )?

My lack of technical english renders this a bit hard for me. Thanks for your help.

So I finally found almost everything here : http://www.cz-spare.parts/
It's in EU, so easier and cheaper for me.
