grips on a striker
« on: November 01, 2017, 11:14:58 PM »
You know with my striker guns I wish someone would start making a grip that has grip panels like most all of the older double/single action guns, so you could buy different grips.  I really don't like stippling unless it's done by some professionals, even then most don't look good. I look at the CZ SP01's with the fantastic aluminum grips, I'll be installing on my P01. What do you guys think would you like different grips for your strikers?

The grip frame would have to be bigger to be able to have grip panels.

OP, maybe I'm mis-reading your idea, but it sounds an awful lot like you just about described the H&K VP9 frame with it's removable side grip plates.
If at first you don't succeed, get a bigger hammer.

This is ugly but functional and reversible, kinda.  I use Sugru on the grip, JB-Weld on the trigger, I've modified two P-09s, one P-07, and the P-10C to suit my large hands with long triggers.  These are range guns, not carry guns, so the extra width and contour change help me with consistency.

Joe,  I also wish the tang was a little thicker for more trigger reach on my P10.  I'm hoping someone makes a backstrap that extends up a bit like on the Glock or M&P.

I guess I could have made myself clearer. Ya I had a p30, thats not what I'm talking about. Actually it is like a 1911 you can replace grips with anything you like. That's what I'd like to do with the strikers I have

You think so. The aluminum grips I'm getting for my CZP01 are extremely thin. I'm actually talking about the Manufacture to start making striker fired guns with removable grips so you can get what you want, wood, plastic, rubber or what ever you want.

That's a novel idea Joe and also solves a problem for you. I guess I've had to many 1911's through the years and able to change the grips whenever I wished.

I agree, would be nice, especially if we could get some Hakan grips for the things! But, not in the cards for a polymer framed pistol, I don't think.
