Kudos to CZ USA CS!
« on: November 21, 2017, 08:20:16 AM »
Some of you know, that I had excessive stacking and a rough trigger to start with on my P07.  I had polished and dry fired the snot out of the gun and put several hundred rounds through it, but still wasn't happy.

Sent it in.  ONE week turn.  Polished (and I think replaced) the trigger bar, replaced the hammer, disconnector, and polished the bearing.  It is much improved, and quite suitable for serious use.

Good on CZ USA.  MUCH improved CS over 10+ years ago.

BL:  If you really have a problem, send it in rather than replace all manner of springs and things.

That's all good and fine. But all the OEM part swapping in the world isn't going to do what a RPTRS and 15# main spring will do for the DA pull... Along with modifying trigger bar spring and polishing.

"All manner of spring" swapping has it's place. ;D

Agreed.  AFTER you get it right.  Just read the thread on BTF - people want to swap out springs when it is likley an extractor/ejector - no - fix the gun first.  Then shoot and train.  Then make it amazing.

I wouldn't say anyone was jumping up and down, prescribing a particular course of action in that thread ... we were asking questions and saying "maybe" - thinking out loud - you know, like people do when they don't have enough information to go on.

All four of my P-07s exhibited weak out of the box ejection due to stiff recoil springs and weaker range ammo so it isn't always a bona fide problem in need of a fix...

I do agree, though - if there a  a *problem* with a new gun, it *should* be fixed before tuning the gun... unless the problem is that the gun isn't tuned! ;-)

Oh, and glad CZ CS took care of you! They've been responsive and very pleasant to work with in recent years... on the odd occasion I've needed them. :)

I think you will love it. I was very lucky to get a good clean trigger from the get go, one that was also very light. After a hammer spring I fell in love with it. I hope you do too man.

Wow. One week turnaround. Awesome CS. Getting a PO7 for Christmas and good to hear experiences that are positive. Great CS is a big deal for me. Thanks for sharing your story.

I already really like the gun.  It handles well and is very accurate.  I have a short rest kit and springs, but holding off for now to see about more break in.   While the trigger is MUCH better (and changing the hammer has also improved the SA), it is nothing like an SP2022 - which epitomizes smooth and light OTB - completely consistent throughout the pull and little to no creep in SA.

But, because the P07 hammer stroke is a tad shorter and the grip is natural to a good shooting hand hold, I think I MAY end up shooting it better, and that is what counts.  (Not that the Sp 2022 is not ergonomic).
