Holster question
« on: November 25, 2017, 11:21:34 AM »
I'm looking for a leather OWB holster for my PCR. I'm not finding a lot of choices for the PCR but do see several for the 75B compact. Back a couple of years ago when I was looking for a Kydex IWB I was told that the PCR would fit a holster made for the compact. So I talked to the guy that makes kydex holsters for me, he couldn't even find a blue gun for the PCR so I asked him to get the compact blue gun and it would be fine.
Long story short, he build a holster with the compact blue gun and when I got it the pcr didn't fit it. I did however manage to slightly reform the kydex and make it work and it's been fine.
So to my question, does anyone know if a leather holster made for a compact work with the pcr? Not sure how to reform a leather holster so I want to be sure before I buy one.

Thanks.

I know these guys do http://www.alessigunholsters.com/.  When I was using leather holsters they were my go to holster maker, but they are not cheap.  I have been using kydex for the last few years because I went through several carry guns when switching from .45 to 9mm and leather would have been quite prohibitive cost wise.  If you want something like a sweat shield added that is not listed on their site call them and they will make it.  I carry outside the waist band at 3 oclock using their CQC and CQC-S models and was very happy with them.  I will probably stick with kydex because it seems slightly easier to draw and reholster (something I practice quite a bit) however on the shot clock draws are pretty consistent betweent he 2 so who knows.

I have OWB holsters by UBG Holsters and Lobo Gun Leather. They are both reasonably priced and are of very good quality. I highly recommend both of them.

High Noon, lined. Because the holster has a retention screw, it works for my PCR as well as my P01.

I found a mold specific to the pcr. Its slightly wider and the profile of the frame is a little different than the standard compact but leather holsters for the compact should accommodate the pcr. Having said that .. I do have the pcr mold and have started to produce for the pcr specifically. One with initials is due to go out this coming week!

That's kind of what I thought about the mold, at any rate I've gone ahead and ordered a leather owb for the 75B Compact, assuming the PCR will fit since it's leather there should be at least a little give and take.

Thanks all

OK, just to keep my options open I've got a holster coming from Alex Boriqua for my pcr. His work looks amazing and the prices are very good, I'll probably be getting a couple more down the road.
Getting one with snaps because I like being able to take the hoster off without removing my belt. Will post a pic when I get it, if I remember.
