Trigger question...
« on: April 14, 2006, 04:44:03 PM »
Are the triggers from 75/85 interchangeable with triggers from P-01/Sp-01? Nothing wrong with my trigger, purely a cosmetic thing. I'd like to see what a P-01 looks like with a shiny trigger.I've seen a S/A conversion on an SP-01,here on the forum. It looks very nice, but I don't know that I'd make the conversion just to get that look. I do ,however, like the look of the different finish on the trigger. Also...is it difficult to swap out a trigger?  Thanks for any input.    Jim

Yes.  Interchangeable.  But...

The S/A trigger won't work in a DA/SA gun, only in a gun converted to SA.

The P-01 trigger will work in the DA/SA without problems.  It'll also work in the 97B (or so I'm told -- I haven't tried.)

That P-01 trigger is more different than just appearances -- its got a greater curve (which actually shortens the trigger pull slightly.)  Some love it, others hate it.

Its not particularly difficult.  Check our Home Gunsmithing area... you'll probably find some instructions there on how to do it.  (If you're asking, that probbably means  you've never done it -- and it could prove to be a good "first" exercize in home gunsmithing.)

The existing triggers can be polished.

Well Walt,as usual you're right on the money. I've never removed a trigger.I did entertain an idea of polishing it though. It kind of made me nervous trying to do it while the trigger is still in the gun.I figured, instead of polishing something that I don't need to polish,(by accident),I'd better ask an expert/s. I mean,if I need to remove it to polish it,why not just replace it with something that will look better than what I'd end up with? I'll check the smithing pages and see if I can find something useful. As always...Thanks for the input.   Jim
