I been looking at a ss S&W 44mag mountain gun. It's new and $512.0 It feels good in hand has a fantastic trigger great sights and tell me is this just lust or true love I all ready have a red hawk and black hawk That shoot much better then I do any more. And I really don't need another gun. But I know my wife would want me to have it.So I need to know the down side of this gun so my wife won't be to disappointed if I don't buy it.I feel sure there some one out there who has one and will help me in this matter.

A friend has one and carries it from time to time.  He's a S&W revolver nut.  He likes it a lot.  I've shot it -- his has a GREAT (stock) trigger.

If you need an excuse to buy it, I can't do anything to dissuade you.

Handsome weapon, too.

Hello.  I share the previous man's sentiments.  Though my Mountain Gun is in .45 Colt, it remains a favorite and one I tote when hunting regularly.  I'd get it I think, especially if it has no lock.

This one has put a couple of deer in the freezer.

Best.

The one I looked at frist was gone no lock The one I brought has a lock and turned to be a good choice. And it's a very good shooter out the box. Loaded some 44mag mild side 240gr.lswc 15gr.2400 240gr.lswc 7 1/2 gr unique and four other loads I had laying around.I been loading a long time. And what I don't get they all shoot point of aim.I have had 5 of them over years. And this one is the best. You can load them up or down they can be very accurate and a real pleasure to shoot if you don't reload stay  away the from factory 44mag loads and shoot 44specials and work your way up. I shoot this target at about 18yd's off hand using my merit eye attachment only so Ican see the sights.

My mother carries one- a .44 mag. The specials she puts thru it are about the most she can tolerate.

Superbly smooth and light  action for any revolver, I think they polish them up a bit on the MT Guns. I was duly impressed, given that I don't even like
Smiths.
