I carry a comped P-07 in a slightly modified JM Custom Kydex P-09 holster - no issues.

I carried my P09 while the P07 was off getting the machine work done for the RMR installation and cerakoting.  I never felt comfortable carrying it on my hip (IWB) or in the shoulder holster (Air Marshall 3).  Just "felt" too big.  But then, I was used to the P07 and the P09 is bigger.  If I'd carried it longer, maybe it would have eventually "felt" normal.

As it was, when I got the P07 to the range that first time and got it sighted in, the P09 went back on the shelf.

There is someone here who shortened the frame/grip on his P09 to make it easier to conceal and he said it worked fine, but I don't remember all the details.  You might search for that thread, just for information.  In case you decide you really want to carry it, but the grip does make it tough to conceal IWB.

I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

I planned on carrying it around the 3:30 position IWB.  I had a P07 but had to sell it to fund another project.

I carry AIWB now but, when I carried behind the hip, the JM Custom light-bearing IWB V2 served me quite well. It was the first holster out of about 50 I tried that I could carry comfortably and securely with, day in, day out.

I have, used a belt slide holster (OWB). Big pistol and you must dress around it.
Also need a very good gun belt to carry it properly.

YES, I carry a PO-9 with a Vortex Viper RDS in a slightly modified ( for the RDS) Alian Gear Clock Tuck 3.0 IWB holster with an Alien Gear belt.
3 o'clock position, very comfortable for me.
I personally don't worry if anyone notices bulges, I carry all over the place including Church. Only one person ever noticed and he was conceal carrying  also.
Most people don't even notice someone carrying a weapon under their shirt, they think a small bulge maybe another cell phone or a colostomy bag or who knows what. And 99% of them wouldn't bother asking.
The way I feel at this point, if that's  what's most comfortable in your hand and you shoot the best, carry it. It's your life not a fashion statement !!!!  😎 👍

Doc 1500, that is beautifully put. I spent 2-3 years in a class twice a week, bending twisting printing and i thoight occasionally showing. I carried a glock 17, 1911, or fnp45 tactical with a doctors.  Not till another day when i got in a conversion did one of the guys finally put togethsr i had a gun on me.
I feel most people dont want to know about it, to the point, blatant denial to themselves.

It is worth mentioning that usually carriers give themselves away by being overly self conscious or fidgety with their guns, regardless of size.

I guess I'm one of the oddballs, I carry a P-09 AIWB everyday with (2) 21rd mags at 9:00.  I have a P-07 but the holster I have feels really top heavy with it due to shorter slide length (afraid it might tip over the belt during certain work duties).
I am in the process of building a Roland Special somewhat like sonspark's P-07 just need to send the slide in for milling. It will be slightly longer...3/4" or so...than the P-09 when finished. I hope it's still comfortable enough for AIWB for me.

Anyway myself and countless others have carried a full size 1911 at 3:00 for decades before the polyguns were ever a thing, I don't see that it would be a problem myself.

YMMV but I noticed zero difference in comfort after installing the comp. I notice the X300 more than the gun to be honest. ;-)

Unfortunately in this world many people judge others on first impressions, which we know we shouldn't , but we/ they do. As s0nspark said " confidence"....
How a person appears in public . If you have an attitude like a dirtbag, look like a dirtbag, talk like a dirtbag and someone just happens to notice he has a gun, that's going to make the average person really nervous.
When I go to work I wear a polo, jeans, casual shoes and the clean-looking appearance. For about a week I did a little test to see how people react, I open carried for that entire week going to the same places that I usually do , only one person said something, and it was a guy that just asked if it was a 9 mm.
My point is even if people see a gun it all depends upon the person that's carrying and what they look like and if you carry in confidence they don't feel threatened. and then people just realize you're an average Joe, or even think that you're a Leo in plain clothes.
Again if you look and act like a decent average person, 99% of those people are not going to say a word.
And it said before ,  quit fidgeting with your gun.

I carry my P-09 occasionally but only when going on a walk out here in the country.  It's fine for that but it's just when we're walking.
I would need a better rig if getting in and out of cars, etc.
My opinion, it's a little large for CC.
If we go hiking, I carry my P-07.  Sometimes it even feels a little heavy but I don't regularly.

I don't carry my P09 often, but it carries well when I do carry it.  My normal carry choice lately has been my P07/40 with factory +2 mag extensions.  Those carry really well and having a 17 round spare mag is comforting as well.  My main issue with carrying either the P09 or full size 1911 is that they can be hard on car interiors.

This is so true.  How a person presents themselves largely determines how people react to them.  The type of clothes has a lot to do with it, but so does how you carry yourself I think.  If I'm dressed for work in business casual attire, I don't think twice about OC or sloppy CC but if I'm in grubby clothes heading out to the junk yard for project car parts, it's always CC.

I'll never understand the folks that want to look cool and dress all thug like and then can't understand why people treat them like a thug.
