My new 99041 arrived !
« on: January 18, 2018, 10:31:17 PM »
My steel frame P-01 got home today. On the same day with bunch of parts from CGW. Happy camper here.
Very handsome gun.
Hey CZ, next time try rolling this gun in more grease. 2 Kilograms is just not enough.  ;)

Congrats! Have fun polishing and installing.

Yeah the grease keeps it safe. Breakdown your magazines and get it out of them, even up in the feed lips. I had some come with a lot of grease in there. Maybe 5 kilo's or so!

Hey guys, maybe some of you more knowledgeable can explain this :
Cleaning my new 99041, I noticed comparing to my PCR (which is aluminum frame) that this steel frame gun is much "cleaner" inside.
When I say "cleaner" I mean the metal work is more neat, and it looks much better than PCR.
Why is that ?
Is it possible that working with steel is easier for machining ?

I've heard CZ is rather notorious for running their machine tooling to it's last leg. That leaves some of the pistols with an interior finish that is a little more rough. You'll hear about it more than they statistically exist. The vast majority of the time they will look fine. The newer the tooling, the sharper the tooling, the cleaner it is. This is a general statement.

That being said, I worked on about 7 SP-01 Compacts and they all had exceptional fit and finish. Since they were for a custom contract I am guessing that they went the extra mile on them. Or the tooling was all fresh for that run. As for yours, I have no idea....

Now that I am thinking about it, the alloy frames CZ's I have worked on seemed to have super clean interior finish....

Thanks SP !
That makes sense.
If there is 1 to 10 on the inside finish, this 99041 would be strong 9 or even 10, while PCR would be 6.

Takes a nice sharp "tool" to cut aluminum smoothly.  The more worn the cutting edge, the more chatter you likely get, even with steel frames at some point.

I had my UG P01 apart last night.  I noticed burrs sticking (inside) out from the edge of some of the holes where the tool used to cut didn't cleanly cut, it just pushed aluminum out of it's way as it passed by.  Maybe I should completely tear it apart and smooth out all those rough edges (some day when I'm looking for something to do).  No one would be able to see it, but it would make me feel better.
I just keep wasting time and money on other brands trying to find/make one shoot like my P07 and P09.  What is wrong with me?

Just got my 99041 model number CZ75. 1 out of 50. Gun is tacky to the touch
Lots of storage grease. Only difference I can see between the 99021 and the 99041.
99021 has stamped CZ75 Compact Cal.9 Luger
99041 has CZ 75 P-01.

Both have rubber grips
Both have Safety?s
The 99041 has 17 CIP N stamped on the slide near the ejection port
The 99021 has 16 CIP N stamped on the slide near the ejection port.

I don't recall every buying a new CZ and having to clean "grease" protectant off the interior parts.  I just open them up, looked them over and lubed them with Mobil 1 - and then shot them.

Maybe it's got something to do with where they are likely to be shipped?  Or the time of the year they are made?

I do agree that it should be removed and then lubed with whatever brand/type of lube you intend to use on it long term.

If I may ask, what is the target test date on your new arrivals? Congrats on the fine acquisitions.
