Please school me on the supposed striker issue

So I somehow managed to be deaf to all the fuss over the slide plate and rotating striker until after I got my P-10. Looks like mine was made in late Nov '17 and has the updated plate. I can rotate the striker, and while it will stick if I slowly ride the slide back, it doesn't seem to mind if I let it back faster. I also noticed the P10 in question from the original article was cerakoted.

So, botton line... is all this a big fuss over nothing, or is there actually something I need to be wary of? My P10 was jam city on the first magazine, which I'm attributing to a bad box of reloads, but has been flawless since. I ultimately want the P10 in my nightstand safe, so I just want to make sure I can trust it.

That's a hot button issue around here, Alot of folks are going to tell you it's a non issue, and a few others see it as a potential problem, I see it as a potential problem. To be fair CZ got right on it and now have a fix, which is great. I however, am of the opinion that  the striker should've never been able to rotate in the first place, as a result I sold mine and went back to DS/SA pistols, as I believe they offer a level of saftey that striker fired pistols don't. This is a decision that YOU and YOU alone can make, if you're ok with the striker being able to rotate, then drive on, If it's an issue that bugs you, then get rid of it, because if you don't, it'll keep eating at you and you'll trust it less and less, and carry it less and less..

Thanks for the help. I definitely didn't intend to poke at a hornets nest!

Was the fix you mentioned just the angled edges on the plate, or is there something for the striker rotating too? Really liking this gun and trying not to lose confidence in it over something I read on the internet.

I've actually been trying to convince myself to move over to DA/SA, just for the safety of that first trigger pull under a stressful situation. But I keep hearing it takes extra training on those to be proficient with the transition, and I don't go shooting near enough to feel I'd satisfy that.

I would definitely not sell my P-10 like badwrench did. The so called "fatal flaw" happened when the striker rotated and got caught on the bottom of the slide plate cover. CZ-USA Warranty Service chamfered the bottom of the slide plate cover to prevent that from happening. The other issue with the striker is several had the tip break off. Mine was one of them. CZ shipped me a replacement striker and I installed it myself. When Cajun Gun Works came out with a tool steel striker for the P-10 I was the first to order one and install it in my P-10. Cost is $48 plus shipping. I am now totally confident in my P-10 and carry it every day. BTW since I switched to the CGW striker it does not rotate like the stock one did. So for a $48 investment and CZ Warranty Service chamfering my slide plate cover I now have a P-10 that I can carry  with confidence. The P-10 is a great gun so for god sakes don't sell it.
