scorpion sbr

So I have a scorpion carbine with the brake. I picked it up used for $600. yay! I'm about to start the paperwork on a 9mm can, and I'd like to have an SBR scorpion to go with it. I'd love opinions on the best way to set this up from the folks who have done it. Why reinvent the wheel?

I'd prefer to have one set up like the top gun, not the bottom.  but I could live with the forend if it saves me money.

I am assuming that the most cost effective thing to do would be to sell the carbine and buy a pistol and sbr from there? A pistol runs roughly 700+200 for a 922r kit. Or I see that there are other stocks. the sidelink zukov or lage stocks.
Another option would be to try and remove the forend, see if I could sell it and buy the pistol forend and have the barrel chopped and threaded.

I guess I could also add a gearhead tailhook (that seems to be the best "brace" at the moment right?) to a pistol and skip the stamp. those look to add maybe $250 to the pistol.

So what say the cz guys?

Pistol and tail hook. You don?t have to deal with sbr requirements for crossing state lines. Tailhook and tax stamp basically break even.

I did the pistol + SBR + 922r kit. A terrible pistol, but a great SBR. The 922r kit is no longer available, so you'd have to piecemeal that.

The up-side to converting the Carbine is that you already have the buttstock and 922r stuff.

Would you be able to use the standard pistol handguard and handguard retainer nut if you shortened your existing carbine barrel? Even if you had to use a HBi or MI handguard instead, that might be cheaper than a new CZ barrel and trunion ($150), handguard ($40), barrel nut ($35), flash hider ($35), and compensator catch ($9).

That's interesting. So, the Carbine's barrel is the same as that of the Pistol from the trunion to about 7.72" with barrel nut threads and everything?

Forgive me, I'm not trying to hijack the thread, but what type of red dot are you running on your SBR?

That's not my picture, but I have a Bushnell trs25 on my carbine.

So I have a vote for converting my carbine and a vote for the tailhook. Anybody else want to chime in?

Both of my pistols.

All black is standard pistol barrel with carbine handguard and my F1 can.

The other is a k conversion.

I move the tailhook to whichever one I?m using at the time.
