This weekend I attended an Advanced Pistol Class taught by Larry Vickers and Ken Hackathorn. I brought my CZ 75B that David and his team installed a Pro Package, some new sights and a few other goodies on. It ran like a champ. Not a single hiccup. Ate everything and threw those bullets exactly where I pointed them. Trigger and the reset helped me shoot some nice groups.

Ken Hackathorn noticed the gun in my holster and asked is that a Shadow 2? I said no a CZ 75B that had little work done on it by Cajun Gun Works. He looked it over and was impressed. We talked about the good old days when CZ still ran a bit under the radar and you could get them under $400 NIB. We both agreed those days are over. The cat is out of the box.

At the end of the class KH shook my hand and said you shot that CZ well all weekend. You were up to the task. That brought a smile to my face. Having a living legend tell you that you shot well was humbling and fulfilling at the same time. Thanks for making me look better than I probably am Cajun Gun Works.  ;D

Very nice!  Ive been watching the thread on the CFF forum and am totally jelly.  Wish I could have attended that class but too tough for me to schedule this time, maybe next time.  While I was considering if scheduling would allow I was contemplating which gun I would of brought and decided it would of been my P-10C.

It was an amazing class.  Some of the stuff was eye opening. It was not a cut your par time kind of class. It was an accuracy, trigger control focused approach to training so you can survive a gunfight in the real world.

Well done! By the time I can pay for and get the time off to attend a real class - I will be dead. :)

Honestly this class was worth the effort. There was a set of LEOs that drove down from Vermont for the class. Hackathorn is 72 IIRC and is only doing 3 civilian classes this year. I have to be honest it was pretty awesome to meet, shoot and interact with KH. He is hilarious and the stories he told alone were worth the price of admission.

LV might be doing a pistol course solo at the same location later this year. There was also talk about a carbine course. IF they happen I will post info on the forum in the proper location.

I kind of understand your excitement about both the course and interaction with a great shooter.  I took a two-day class from Brian Zins, the current best bullseye shooter in the US.  I used my P-09 in the class, not exactly your typical bullseye match gun.  Brian dry fired my gun, scratched his head and said something like "I can't believe you can shoot something like that as well as you do."  And I did shoot one good target out of 3 that day, I think.  :) :)

Good report, glad you had a great experience.

Nice funny that you mentioned Mr. Zin. He is teaching a pistol class local to me in April which I am considering attending.
