FTF issues on new Rami
« on: February 23, 2018, 01:54:20 PM »
Hi there.  I have a P-01, my favorite gun.  A few days ago I purchased a Rami for carry but I've had way too many ftf during my range/break-in period.  It happens both during racking the slide to load the first round and also during firing (failure to load the next round).  I've cleaned/lubed as I would any other gun and even polished the ramp and throat of the barrel with no change.

Any ideas?

I called CZUSA and, of course, they want me to send in the gun but, geez, it's less than a week old and to have to send it in for 4-6 weeks is quite frustrating so I thought I'd check here/online to see what advice I can get before sending it off (and expect them to tell me "there's nothing wrong with your gun" or similar....

Any help is appreciated!

Are you getting the FTFs on both the 10 rounder and the 14 rounder?

Seems like some guys are experiencing issues with the 14 rounders... and not the 10 rounders. Which seem to be spring related? Possibly?

I had one FTFeed in the very first magazine I put through the gun (last round; 10 rounder). Since then, mine has been flawless with both mags (about 500 rounds so far).

Sorry to hear you're having issues.

They told me the same, but it took less than 2 weeks turn around.  I sent them pictures of where the bullet noses were jamming into the feedramp once it was dirtied up.  I could see where they recut the chamber mouth slightly, took the small hump out of the feedramp and also bevelled some of the edges while at it as an added bonus.  Now runs like a champ with all ammo including my favorite 147 HST that I depend my life on.

Please let them make iit right for you.

I had the same problems when I purchased my new RAMI last summer.  Over time, I changed springs and temporarily fixed the FTF issues.  Eventually, the problems returned and I decided to just send it back to CZ for warranty work.

It's best to understand that all of the suggested DIY fixes may, or may not work!

If you keep the gun and attempt to fix it yourself over the next 4 to 6 weeks, your new gun may still have the same problem.

Knowing what I know today, I'd suggest that you spend that same amount of time waiting for the gun go come back from CZ with the problem fixed.
