452 Sear Engagement
« on: March 06, 2018, 05:04:10 PM »
I am fixing to install a Yodave kit, however I am lost when it starts talking about making sure you have good sear engagement. Is there some pictures somewhere to show what a bad engagement looks like? All pictures I have seen on the forum have been removed. Thanks.

You can get p-bucket pics to show by adding an extension to your browser.

Google photobucket fix.

You can test for adequate sear engagement by performing a 'bump' test.

Take a rubber mallet and whack the tang of the receiver, with the bolt cocked. If the rifle doesn't fire, check to see if you can set and unset the safety.

If it passes those two tests, you've got good sear engagement.
I had the right to remain silent...

but not the ability.
