CZ 75B - Can you put a 9mm Slide on a .40S&W frame?

Hi Guys,

short introduction: ex-gunsmith from germany, shooting a 75B and a TGF Mod.1 for years. Not sure if that counts as an CZ - I've built two Mauser98 rifles on Czech pre-'45 systems.

Since the local gun laws make it hard to own several similar guns I would like to get a friend of mine a CZ75B in .40 and buy another 75B slide with barrel as a caliber conversion.

Has anybody done this? Will the slide fit and work reliably?

I've asked this before in another forum and got lots of assumptions, ideas and opinions. But the question is: Has anybody done it?
I guess assumptions won't bring me anywhere in this case...

It will fit perfectly.  I have a 40 cal. 75 BSA and a SP01 9mm top end and they are interchangeable.  Add a Kadet and you will have three calibers on one frame.

thanks for you answer! That's what I wanted to hear. 

The Kadet system is already on the wishlist, but they are pretty expensive over here. Even the used ones are usually selling for over 400.- EUR (nearly 500 USD).

I recently purchased a 40S&W slide for my SP-01 9mm.  It required fitting to adjust the timing slightly and I had to remove a small amount from the top of the ejector cage (sear cage).  It fits and functions great now.
