The up-to date history  on my pistol problems. I finally had to send back the Sigma .40 to S&W . With 165 gr. ammo it would jam on every other shot. Hope they find the problem.  I sold the Sig.228, and invested in a H&K .40 compact w/stainless slide. CDNN has them on close-out for $650.00, I guess these are the last ones available, H&K is discontinuing  the stainless slide model.I purchased mine from my local gun store as they matched the price,and gave a 30 day return guarantee. I dont expect any "problems" with a H&K product, but you never know!  Anyone out there own a H&K compact? What has been your experience?  I havent shot it yet, waiting for the weather to clear.

The H&K compact (and it's variants, the P2000 and the LEM) is one of the more popular models at my job. It will serve you well, I've shot it in just about every flavor available. The 9mm is a creampuff, the 40 is a very snappy pistol, the .45 is my personal fave (slightly bigger frame, lower pressure round). My only beef on this pistol is the DA trigger, it is exceptionally stiff for a 700.00 gun and it really doesn't improve much over time. More and more I'm seeing the LEM style trigger being favored. If you plan on carrying C&L it's not an issue, the SA trigger is peachy. Otherwise it's your usual teutonic engineered blaster. Reliable, accurate and easy to carry.Being a fan of the two-tone look, I think you're getting a heck of a gun, but not much of a bargain for a used pistol. They retail new for 715.00 - 799.00 around these parts, and 650.00 - 699.00 for the blue. Throw in your shipping and FFL fees and you're almost paying that for yours ( if I remember rightly these are police trade ins, seem to have misplaced my catalogue) Let us know how your shooting goes.

There is no such thing as a bad H&K.  You will not have any problems,  seriously,  I have never heard of any H&K owner utter a single complaint and I know about a dozen.  
  The Sigma on the other hand,  well !!!, as someone who shoots polymer frames extensively,  it aint no Glock ,nor is it a Springfield XD, not even close, but thats just my opinion.  
  I wish you much success with your H&K,  be it a compact, USP, or whatever,  like I said, the name says it all.

The newer SIGMAs are pretty good, according to all reports, and because they don't have the awkward Glock grip, may be a theoretical improvement.  

It just a shame that they got off to such a bad start...

I've shot a few H&Ks, and they shot fine.  The only problem with them, FOR ME, is that they "feel" more plastic than a Glock.

All this talk of H&Ks,  you guys realize now, that I HAVE TO watch Tom Cruise in -COLLATERAL- again, and again , and again.  He uses an H&K USP.

1.  Downtown parking garage scene.
2.  Nightclub scene.

hmm,  I can't decide which one I like better.
