.223 Ricochet - real or fake?

Here is a link that claims it shows a .223 round ricochet from hundreds of feet away (does not say what the target was supposed to be:

I am not sure about this one being real. Can't say for sure since around here, most all shooting is done indoors & this video is obviously made by some rednecks WAY out in the sticks - it does not even look like a real shooting range (just some property someplace). At least they are all wearing eye protection which it seems most people outdoor don't bother with.
If it is real, it makes me wonder what they were supposedly shooting at & most of all - why.

We get richochets at our indoor range at 50'-60' from factory 9mm hardball -- and I've bled more than once as a result. This 9mm stuff isn't going down range with nearly the speed of a .223 round. It sounds very realistic, to me.

This is common when shooting on old abandonned cars, the low energy is'nt enough to pass thru rubber tires. I've had this happen more than once with rimfires on tires.
Beware!

I was a spectator at Rob Leatham's presentation, when a round he shot(forgot if it was 9mm or 45acp) to a steel target produced a small lead particle that hit me at the collar of my t-shirt. wasn't much, but I was about 50 feetaway from him.
Then a few moments later another one came right down on my head. But I wasn't sure if that was a bullet particle or some other thing like an insect on its last flight.
