I agree with Mifune, that a pistol mounted light makes almost any sights work better than just night sights alone. You also want a hand-held flashlight to identify who you are spot-lighting so that you don't use your pistol mounted light to light up a neighbor or police officer. I keep both hand held tac-light and pistol mounted light on my P-07 by my bedside. I use the hand held light to identify and the pistol mounted light if I need to defend. Most of the time I have to get up in the middle of the night, I am armed with a flashlight and a .22 rifle with varmint light to dispatch a raccoon, possum or armadillo around my home. But you want to identify your critter with a hand held light first, just to be safe and to keep you safe as well. I would imagine that your local LE officers might not be very understanding if you used a pistol mounted light to see them outside your home. But we are all smart enough to avoid that bad scene, aren't we?
