Wish List Thread
« on: April 27, 2018, 09:44:22 AM »
I assume this has been done here before; it's a common trope on other boards.  Tell us what you would like CZ to produce in the center fire bolt-action realm.  Keep it realistic (the rules of physics still apply).  Let's hope CZ pays attention and considers developing some of these.

I'd like to see a 7.62x39 version of the discontinued 550 FS .30-06.  It's basically:
  • 527 FS
  • 7.62x39
  • adjustable sights
  • hinged floorplate magazine (5 rounds should be possible if staggered)
  • forward-to-fire safety!
For me, it's a way to own an elegant rifle in an affordable chambering, but a hunter could use it for deer, hogs, and coyote.

Now for the crazy stuff:
  • a pop-up peep sight, like the old Brno 602
  • an NECG fold-over night sight up front
  • an NECG grip cap with trapdoor to store a screwdriver for sight adjustment
  • an NECG cartridge trap in the stock

What do you want CZ to produce?

No, no, no,  I don't need another 527, but want is another matter.

A CZ 455 Scout Mini. The Scout is a good kids gun but the Savage Rascal is half the weight. They need a really light weight version to truly start out young kids.

Two wishes, first a CZ 527 22 Hornet Varmint and a 527 17 Fireball/Mach IV also a varmint model. All this is possible with what CZ already produces with the exception of the 17 Fireball chamber reamer. Anyway those are my thoughts.

How about a 50% plus price reduction in civilian version of Bren (7.62x 39) to follow Beretta's price slashing lead?

 527 Carbines in 357 Magnum, 44 Magnum and maybe 45 Colt or 454 .

Bring back the 452 American in 17HM2.

527 Carbines with a flush hinged floor plate in 7.62x39 and 6.8SPC, 5 rounds ideally, but 3 rounds would be fine with me.

Due to the 455's interchangeable barrels, they could probably cut weight fairly easily by offering a skinny barrel, or even a carbon fiber wrapped barrel.

527M with optional 10 round magazines - I live in Arizona, and we don't have magazine restrictions for hunting. Never know what you're going to run into with javelina or coyote, not to mention the two legged varmints that slink through our southern hunting spots. I'd love to see a polymer all weather folding stock (like I have in wood), for a backpacking rifle, including spare magazine butt box, maybe offered with a nitride finish.  :) I'd also like to see sturdy adjustable sights and forward scout style scope mounts for light and handy scopes. I'd also like to see combo packages offered, rifle plus scope - if I could have gotten my 527M with a Redfield Revolution 2-7 installed, I would have wet myself. Nowadays, as I love it for a light close/med all terrain carbine, a small fixe 4 power of a rugged design would be another great CZoice. I know CZ-UB makes scopes as well, might be a good seller, just match up rifle and scope and ship it to the FFL.

Dream rifle? Sitting down? The 527M as is, but semi auto.

John Browning built his first automatic rifle out of a lever action and William B Ruger built one out of a Savage 99 so yeah it could be done.  That said I'm not holding my breath though.  But doesn't hurt to dream.
