527 MTR in .224 Valkyrie with a 1/6 twist.




AND a 557 Varmint in 6.5 Creedmoor with a threaded barrel in a 1/8 twist.

The 6.8 is old news now that the 6.5 wave has taken the world by storm... but I'd like a 527 in 6.8 with a 20" to 22" barrel.

For all intents and purposes at the ranges they are going to be effective at, the differences between a 6.8 SPC II and a .264 LBC (the best 6.8 and 6.5 Grendel chamberings) are pretty moot.  The biggest difference being if you want to shoot lighter bullets faster or heavier bullets slower.  Case capacites are nearly identical.  Bullet diameter differences are minimal.  Performance on game is equal.

I've got a 6.8 in an AR and love the cartridge.

I've got a 6.8 AR, ammo, dies, and reloading components for it.  That's about the only thing that makes me want to stick with it rather than jump ship and go with the 6.5 crowd.
