New SP01 Kit accuracy
« on: May 23, 2018, 11:03:00 AM »
Hello all, has anyone done any accuracy testing with the new Kadet for the SP-01? I was hoping to hear from someone who has also owned the 75 kit.

I see the new kit ( 01612) has poly mags, which appear to have a thumb button. Nice for loading.

Being this kit is very pricy and I can't find it discounted yet, I wanted to understand its quality before hand.

The  original 75 kits are very accurate, and well made. I am strongly considering this kit, but would really like to know if it is just a plinker. I have plenty of those already!!

The SP-01 Kadet is a different animal all together.

On the Kadet II, only a small portion of the slide cycles, on the SP-01 Kadet, looks like the whole slide cycles.  One of the reason why the old design is so reliable is relative lightness of the moving part, if the new design moves the whole slide, I wonder if the slide is of the same weight?  Are we ending up with a lighter pistol?

Thank you for your pix and reply. Being my post generated little response, I thought it was too new for anyone to know.

Being I am a tinkerer, and a CZ fan, I ordered this kit. I am very familiar with the original Kadet 75 kit, as I own 3 of them.

The original kit is an impressive design, with only one shortcoming in my opinion, which is cocking ears. These would be a big benefit.
That being said, the original is all steel, the mags are a work of art, and it is as accurate as any purpose built 22.
I am more accurate with my 75B ss ( worked over trigger) than I am with my Ruger Target, or my SW model 41, and my model 41 is darn accurate!!

When my SP-01 Kit arrives, I will clean it ( remove the barrel to answer questions here) then bring it to my range and work it over.

This way, I can report back to my CZ brethren, whether or not they should cough up 431 hard earned dollars for this kit.

CZ , over the years, has put out very little garbage. Even the items that people complain about ( 455 american comes to mind) are pretty good,  so based on that, I was willing to gamble it.  I am also hoping that it changes the balance for the better with my SP-01.

Stay tuned.....

Rich,

I own a SP-01 and is debating between getting either the 01610 or the 01612.  I heard of the superb quality of 01610 over the years, but am little worried about working on the lugs since I am not much of a tinker. I like the idea of 01612 which is a direct drop-in, but worry about lack of history and documentation. I couldn?t even find a manual for the 01612.

Given that you own both, can you tell me what are the differences? In terms of weight, ease of use, and the pros/cons of each.

Thanks,
smiley
