OG Bren color question.
« on: June 08, 2018, 07:10:23 PM »
I tried searching on the Google but couldn?t find much info on the OG gray upper. Does anyone know a color code or if it?s close to a Colt SP1 anodized color? This is the color I?m referring to and it was from guns.com.

Any info you all have would be greatly appreciated.

I got my Bren back from a local Cerakote shop a few weeks ago. I decided not to get too technical and have some fun. I just picked out a shade of gray from the Cerakote palate of colors. The color is Cobalt H-112. Close enough to the Euro grey for me. I didn't take any photos but in direct sunlight the cobalt looks more like silver than dark grey.

This is the color in indirect sunlight.

And this is how it look under incandescent light.

A close up of the texture in the coating and the white lettering.

 :)
You can always tell a Slovak, but you can't tell him much. Just ask my wife. ;)

That?s exactly what I?m looking for. I was going to go with an anodized ?pre ban gray?, so think Colt SP1 or a Colt DOE. I have the OEM non tele stock, retro mag kit and now the gray upper is all I?d need.

Here is a photo of the cerakote under harsh LED lights. This would be a good example of how the color would look in direct sunlight. Now it looks more silver than anything.

Just dropped off my Bren today to get cerakoted. In viewing MAC episode https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WC02-SXP1E , the grey he used most closely resembles Battleship Grey(non metallic and matte) so went with that. Cerakote place luckily had a glock in that color and they named the piece Nintendo since color really resembles nintendo console and controller. Ill post results in a few weeks. Since I live in NorCal, I have the same stock in his video and also ordered midwest industries side rails.

I refuse to click on any link regarding MAC but I?m really looking forward to seeing your build.
