This past Saturday I shot in our local pistol match with my old beat up 75 Shadow with all the CGW mods and a lot of rounds through it.
While waiting for the match briefing several of us on squad 3 were dry firing in the safe areas
One had a new all stock SPO1 Shadow SPO1. He asked what I was shooting, so a I told him and he offered to let me dry fire his. I tried the SA first and then DA. The SA had a nice clean break at a guess around 4 pounds. The DA pull was waaay long and heavy (9-10#?). I offered to let him try my Shadow, and two other CZ shooters I know came in to watch.
I suggested he start with a SA pull. He pulled the pistol up from the Ready position and dropped the hammer before he was ready. I said to treat it like a SA only with a light trigger pull. He tried again much more careful this time, and said wow
I told him to try the DA now, and again another wow. He commented that the pull was really light and smooth
One of the other CZ shooters asked and tried the same and smiled and made nice comments. The first tester asked how to lighten his Shadow trigger. We all discussed springs, polishing and some CGW upgrades that shortened and lightened the pull.
The match started and I has a lucky day on the first 3 stages. The match was all steel except one swinger, plates, poppers and a mixed plate rack. I shot well (for me)...fast and no wasted shots. One of the guys in our earlier discussion came over and said, "When you get ready to sell that CZ, let me know first.
Made my day.
