Salute to Cajun Gunworks
« on: July 09, 2018, 06:49:02 PM »
I recently shattered my knee and was/am confined to living in a chair for about 3 months. I thought I would take on the project of upgrading my RAMI while confined to the home.

Bought all the parts I needed to complete a pro upgrade from CGW. Completely disassembled the pistol and began installing the new parts. Until, that is, when I tried to reassemble the Decocker sear cage. Thought I was going to cry.

Called Cajun several times and in the end I took everything back apart, organized the parts in small plastic bags, and asked the folks at Cajun if they would reassemble my RAMI.

I think they felt sorry for me and agreed to the work on an expedited basis. Two weeks later I had a like-new RAMI in my hands. I cannot thank David and his team of experts enough for their support.

Amazing, I had knee surgery a week ago, and during that week I ran up quite a bill buying stuff online- including the Pro Package for my RAMI BD.  It was a perfect little project to take on stuck in a recliner with ice on the knee- and I have to say, having built a bunch of ARs, glass bedding my own stocks, etc., getting that sear cage back together was painful enough to make me forget the knee.  I think that I could do it easier now, but I'll never do it again :)

I had been wanting to mount a milled-in RMR on my RAMI for some time.
I knew it would take some specialized knowledge due to the steeper sight angle of the short-barreled RAMI, and the wide hole pattern of the RMR. Several companies couldn't handle the project.

Then I saw a video of CGW milling a RAMI for a Dueck plate with built-in back-up irons. That was it!!
Sent my RAMI slide off to CGW and within a couple of weeks had it back in my hands. Beautiful milling job following the contour of the plate perfectly, with the correct downward angle to lower 1/3 co-witness correctly.
I couldn't be happier with the skill and service of CGW!  -Vinny

The issues I had w/ my RAMI were: trigger bite, a long very hard, gritty DA pull, and I was very accustomed to the short reset I have on two Sigs.

After studying a number of postings on this site (special thanks to PapaWheelie), I sent it to CGW for Old Style trigger, Short Reset System, and polish internal bearing surfaces.

The "old style" trigger is great; the "bite" is gone and now I get a much better grip on the gun.  The combination of the SRS and the polishing, reduced the DA pull from 12+lbs down to a smooth 7lbs - 10oz, with a much shorter reset.  Nice!  The combination of the trigger and the SRS makes a big difference in follow-up shots.

A completely different feel.  This gun is a real pleasure to shoot.

CGW did an outstanding job.  Would highly recommend to anyone.

After several hundred rounds, I will install the Pro kit in my BD. I want to wait so I can see what needs to be polished

Bravo to the OP for the attempt and CGW for the save.   IMO, it's super-important to attempt the diy whenever possible, and equally important to know when to call the experts!

The folks at CGW has been extremely helpful with my RAMI PCR, and now the P10-c. Highly recommend.
