USPSA Production & CO: Legal to cut off lanyard loop now?

Is it now ok in Production division to cut the lanyard loop off my P09?  I know it wasn't before, but those new rules took effect in May that allowed undercutting the trigger guard, etc..  They don't mention anything like it specifically, but I feel like if they are allowing people to remove the finger grooves off their Glock, then surely I can cut the loop off my mainspring plug.  Carry Optics rules read the same way.  I can't imagine why they wouldn't allow it, but I don't see anything specific.

Anyway, I think I would like it off.  Sometimes I knock into it pretty good when I'm trying to go fast on reloads.

If the rules states you can you are good to go. If the rules don't say you can do something you can't.  No rule states that you can cut off the lanyard loop, so you can not.

Look at the rules that "allow undercutting " for any general terms permitting cutting.
  You might get lucky and find a general term that might give you some justification you could ask to use as permission to cut the dingle bob.  The only "sure" way is to ask the USPSA powers that be about  your specific request.

Can you use a P-07 flat hammer spring plug? $9 at CGW.

The P07 plug allows the spring to sit deeper.  I could probably add a spacer of some sort.  Thanks for the idea!

I have also heard that the suppressor ready gray P09s have a flush plug, but I can't find any for sale as a separate part.

You should be able to order it directly from CZUSA. In my personal opinion, I would replace with one that doesn?t have it or just cut the lanyard off the current one. The rule change about allowing the exchange of minor external parts was meant to fix small issues like this. While the appendix doesn?t specifically say hammer spring plug, I would think that it could be easily argued that the plug is a pin, which is allowed to be exchanged for an aftermarket one. Once you take your current plug and grind off the loop you?ve just made a custom aftermarket part.

Thanks Chow89.  I don't see it in their webstore, but I will email the parts department and see what they say.  I am with you on the interpretation of the rules, and I just shoot level 1 club matches for now, so I am not too worried.  I suppose I could email Troy at NROI for an official answer before I went and shot a bigger match.  I appreciate the help!

CZ said no loop-less P09 mainspring plugs yet, but they expect them to start showing up soon since some of the new models are delivered that way.  I'm not sure I am going to email NROI.....might just wait for the factory part.
