SBT-EVO VS. Tailhook Mod1
« on: July 26, 2018, 08:52:35 AM »
I just purchased an EVO pistol and I am looking for the best option for a brace. I am still considering a set up that will allow for a SBA3, but I am considering the Tailhook Mod-1, or the SBT-EVO.

Of the second two mentioned, it seems that the MOD 1 would have the least amount of flex, but this could be a good thing or a bad thing as far as comfort is concerned. The SBT-EVO looks like it is probably more comfortable to shoot with, but I am wondering if a solid shooting platform.

I have the tailhook and like it.  BUT the SBT looks like it has a more comfortable cheek position.   Something to think about.

I have the SBT EVO and like it. It?s very stable for me also. I looked at the tailhook and seriously thought about it but went with the EVO for the cheekweld reason and that it looked to me that it would fit me better.

One day I may SBR the thing and go with a factory stock because my issue with any of these (AR15 rifles included) is I?m so darn tall I need more length of pull than the average person and the factory stock is adjustable which would be nice.

I think I'm going with the tailhook with the cz stock adapter, but everyone is out of stock. Now I wait I guess.

I got a shockwave and regret it. It's terribly uncomfortable and there is a sling attachment on top, right where your cheek is supposed to sit.

Just ordered a folding SBT Evo to replace it. Hoping I'll like it better.

Tailhook and factory cheek piece is the way to go. I have a couple friends who have had to buy a full stock and then the adapter and tail hook just to get one and then sell the "shoe" from the stock.

Sbt evo, somthing just looks too weird with the tailhook to me. It hangs down too far. A hera sidefolder with the new m4 style sbt collapsing brace would be pretty sweet. The collapsible tailhook mod 2 in comparison to sbt version just looks cheap

EVO is extremely comfortable for me.  I have 2 SBT products and very happy with their performance.  I'd like to get an SBA3 soon for my Virtus.

tail hook with the factory CZ portion is the way to go for a brace.

To me, it looks like the adjustability of the SBA3 would be the way to go, but I don't own either of the braces.

For me the Tailhook Mod1 with factory cheek piece worked best. Will post picture tomorrow.

Ok, it is the next day. Here are a couple of pictures of the Tailhook 1 mod with CZ parts. I want to SBR this and I wanted the standard CZ stock - for me, this made the most sense:

I like this brace, with the hook down, it offers pointing flexibility some of the other braces do not.
