Need help finding a magazine release spring
« on: August 17, 2018, 08:17:53 PM »
Hi folks.
I recently brought my scorpion carbine to my gunsmith to do the trigger spring kit as I dont trust my luck at home.
Long story short. He removed the paddle mag release to drill out the screw. He got the kit installed. Great trigger pull now.
Unfortunately he mangled the magazine release spring putting it back together.
Does anyone know where I can get a new one fast?
CZUSA has them listed our of stock.
Thanks for any help you can supply.

HBI or Yeti might be able to help you out. Have you replaced the mag release paddle yet? I received one with my HBI release so if you're thinking about getting one might as well get it now. No sense in paying shipping for both.

When you install the spring it helps to put a dab of grease or liquid teflon to the end of the spring. It helps hold it in place in the paddle while installing.

Trying to be delicate here, but what's up with your gunsmith?
The paddle release is about as simple as things get... If he botched that up I'm not sure I'd trust him with a trigger spring.
And why isn't he fixing the issue? Most any spring of similar size will do the job just fine.
Just my opinions, not trying to be a smart ass.

He is a good gunsmith and did a wonderful job getting the trigger kit installed.
I did already install a new paddle safety from Yeti. It did not come with a spring.
He also installed My new HB industries 15 inch handguard since I could not get that dam muzzle brake off no matter what I tried. I am sure he would cover it. I found out when I got home that evening and knew right away what had happened as I had read the info sheet when installing the paddle. In his defence, he had never seen a Scorpion before, and there are nuances to every new firearm we work with.

To HBI, Thank You! I will send my info ASAP. Your kindness is only exceeded by the quality of your parts!
Thanks also for the input guys.
