9mm TSO in Open
« on: August 22, 2018, 07:03:11 PM »
I currently shoot an SP01 Shadow in carry optics and love it.  I am kicking around the idea of picking up a Tactical Sport Orange, adding a Delta Point Pro, and shooting minor in Open. This is just for fun and a reason to buy the TSO.  I'm curious as to how the red dot will work on a full size gun with the frame mounted optic.  Will the 170mm mags work okay? Any other ideas????

Thanks,

It?ll work just fine. I had a Romeo 1 on mine before. Then I installed a vortex viper. Now I have a c-more on it.

Or just get a czechmate or both

Awesome guns, thanks for replying.  Do you shoot USPSA with either? If so, what division?   Do you shoot minor?

I run my czechmate in the open division with major power factor ammo. The czechmate runs Major power factor ammo in a way that is hard to describe. It's easier than shooting my P - 07 with regular ammo

Sorry, I posted it in the wrong post.  Nice parrot, those are too cool.  Just curious about where you shoot the TSO in  USPSA.

I do not have a Tso. A lot of guys will tell you to just run whatever you have and whatever division you can. I think that's good advice. If you do not yet own the gun that you want to use, and you are trying to decide on a purchase, you will not be disappointed in the Tso in The Limited division. It will be virtually the same thing as a czechmate in limited Format, but you won't have the advantage of running major power factor if you do not get a 40 caliber gun.

Several people will tell you that running minor power factor is not a disadvantage in The Limited division, and that really depends on just how good of a shot you are. If you want to run open, it seems to me that you want to run major power factor.

I'm still pretty new to CZ's.  Do the Czechmate/Parrot have the same quality fitting as the TSO?

The TSO in the czechmate have the same frame more or less. The czechmate is considered the best of the best that CZ has to offer, with the parrot having a minor change to the Hammer. Some of the checkmates use the Tactical sport frame, and some use the t s orange frame comma I chose to get one with the TS orange frame. The TS oranges easier to find in 40 caliber as far as I know

Czechmate for Open Major. It helps if you reload.

TSO for Limited (I have to remove the optics and reinstall the rear sights for limited division).

Shadow 2 for production.

Ben Stoeger seems to think that LTD Major is ?easier? than PD (& therefore probably LTD Minor)
