New guy w/P07 Duty
« on: September 28, 2018, 04:39:25 PM »
Hello,  Just joined the forum and look forward to learning about the CZ P07 Duty firearm.  I am a 24 year and counting LE veteran.  Carried a G21 for most of my carer and for past 2 years have transitioned to the G17.  I just picked up the P07 Duty and look forward to having some trigger work and maybe more done on it.   I am planning on carrying the P07 Duty as an of duty weapon once I have decided what mods to do and with whom to do them.

Any advice is very much welcomed.

Cheers

Welcome!  First off, shoot the heck out of it and see how you like it and what you want to improve.

They're solid guns.

Welcome to the forum. I agree with the other posters, shoot it and see what you think you might want to improve on it. Then call David or Scott at Cajun Gun Works and tell them what you want to improve. I'm sure they will make some good suggestions. I have several CZs, including 2 P07s that I have installed Cajun Gun Works parts in. They really help to make a good solid gun a great gun.

Best regards.

I have 5 different CZs, and oddly enough I have left my P-07 and P-09 alone (except for Fision night sights on the 09). They have felt fine out of the box with 500 rounds through them.  That said, the 09 is my bedside gun, and the 07 owb carry on the property at night when walking the dog (with light on the rail), so a self defense mindset might tempt the CGW Pro package...

If it is the P-07 Duty with the polymer sights then upgrade the sights is my advice or just shoot it to see how you like it.

Just curious but is it really the "Duty" model, I thought CZ had stopped making that one 3 or 4  years ago, I'd be surprised if there were any new ones still on a shelf anywhere. Just asking out of curiosity.

When I purchased it, the tag listed it as that, but now that I look at the gun, you are correct, it does not say "duty" anywhere.

Viclava, congrats! All of the P-07?s I?ve owned had decent DA triggers (two ?Duty? and one ?2014?), but nothing wrong with wanting to clean ?em up a bit. My lone remaining Duty model was converted to a 6 1/2# DAO by CZ Custom a couple of years ago, and is well over 2k rounds with 100% reliability, in addition to smoothing out and lightening up my P-09 MHS?s DAO trigger from 11# down to 7#.
