Title: CZ-75 Stainless Picture Thread
Post by: Jsunn on February 02, 2012, 02:51:59 PM
Hello,

I think we need a consolidated place were we can post pictures of, probably one of the sexiest 9mm ever designed.  A lot of other firearms forums have dedicated picture threads.

So please post your beauty.

Here is a shot of mine.  Her name is Sandra. I'll post a few more when I get a chance to get her in her new digs.

Wow...thanks for posting! Those are the exact grips I'm looking to put on mine-- VZ desert sand. Waiting to get back in stock. I ordered a set of cocobolos's also to see how I like them. Looking for something a bit smaller then the rubber grips that came on my polished SS.

How do you like your grips?

I'll post pics after I get "her dressed up".

You can find info on the base plates here:

http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=25806.0

And info on the adapter for C-T grips here:

http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=41298.msg231373#msg231373

The base plate shown in the picture is not SS. It is an aluminum prototype that I made up. While it can be made in SS it adds quire a bit of weight to the weapon.

Thank You Den. I wasn't quite finished yet, but just completed my 4 mag custom engraved plates. I came up with a 4 dot marking system that can identify each mag number or even be color coded for different ammo types. These are engraved (finished myself in the machine shop today) then engraved dots filled with paint. Spent quite some time finishing, but now own one of a kind pistol.  :)

Gman:
I had the Matte Stainless frame on my Semi-Compact
I hated that every little thing the ?brushed? against it, buffed the matte, leaving a blemish in the finish?.It really bothered me
SO, I polished it out?.LOOKED SHARP
BUT, I still wanted that matte look
So I took a Green ScotchBrit pad to it and gave it the ?Brushed? look
I wish it was a bit more matte, but I think it still looks VERY SHARP
I really dig that B-SA style frame too
Shoot safe, Den S

Thanks Den,

To be honest I preferred the SA only trigger that had a slight curve at the bottom but it was not in stock. I think the flat trigger does not complement well with the traditional looks of the CZ but I am still happy with it. If I knew what a chore it was to replace it I would have kept it in  :o  DA/SA  lol .

P.S.  Nice gun Admiral ( I pasted the link in the browser and the pic came up ) . By any chance do you live in AUstralia ? the barrell is not of standard length it seems.

Looks too cool
How do the Molly TC rounds run ?
I ran a few Linotype TC and RN rounds, but the rifling was pealing too much material, leaving some good ribbons in the bore
I shoot nothing but jacketed or plated bullets now
Title: Re: CZ-75 Stainless Picture Thread
Post by: Admiral Ackbar on February 17, 2012, 04:22:45 AM
Cheers Den.

The Mollys shot great, didn't seem to leave any in the barrel, however I haven't shot them in great quantities. I now shoot the same 125 TC projies, but plated.

P.S. Expect an updated pic soon, as I am converting her from Prod. to Standard.  Have just ordered comp hammer and SAO trigger with pre and post adjustment, short al grips and magwell, and bumpers for my mags. Can't wait! Eventually will get M&P for my production gun (don't ask me why, I just feel the urge to own a plastic gun, and can't bring myself to buy a glock).

If I had only been warned... that a CZ will multiply LIKE RABBITS!  It started innocently enough with a CZ-75 Stainless Steel Limited Edition.  I purchased the "Adapter for Crimson Trace Grips" created by this forum's very own member, 75PLUS.   It worked GREAT! See this post for ordering info from 75PLUS:  http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=32775.msg236981#msg236981 (http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=32775.msg236981#msg236981)  ...or... search for "Adapter for Crimson Trace Grips".  But... then I got bored, and found myself rarely using the Crimson Trace grips on the range.
Sooo... I changed the grips on the CZ-75 SS Limited Edition to Xtreme Aluminum Grips:
(http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/2203/1cz75sslimitededitionlei.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/g/403/1cz75sslimitededitionlei.jpg/)

...this left me with an unused and PERFECTLY GOOD set of Crimson Trace LG-475 grips.  That's a PROBLEM.
No worries.  As lotsagas4u stated, a CZ multiplies like rabbits!  I stumbled upon this at my local CZ dealer, and bought it after an entire day of "pre-purchase pondering":
The engraved "U.S. only", CZ-75 75th Anniversary.  (75 created/imported to the U.S.):
(http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/869/5cz7575thanniversaryusa.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/g/403/1cz75sslimitededitionlei.jpg/)

The 75th Anniversary has no RH Safety.  So, I can safely put away those hallmarked silver Eagle handgrips, and use the "leftover" Crimson Trace Grips.   Yeah, yeah, yeah.  It's a barbecue pistol.  But, it's still a CZ-75!  BTW... I've heard some folks suggest in the forums that it's polished stainless steel;  however, Jakub at CZUB confirmed that it's "Polished Nickel" before I purchased it.

Whew.  Damage done.  Should be okay for a little while.  Then... HOLY C##P!!!   Uh... I had to get this.  It was too unbelievable to find (and new in box):

CZ-75 SP-01 Shadow Adam Tyc World Champion Edition (333 created.  I've read online that only "6 were imported to the U.S.")
(http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/3117/11cz75sp01shadowworldch.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/g/403/1cz75sslimitededitionlei.jpg/)

Okay.  I've satisfied my CZ "fix" for at least one year... uh... six months
MORAL:  Start with a CZ.  A compact....or a stainless 75B... or an SP-01.  Don't worry... you'll be back to pick up your other "kids" soon enough!  (Next up... a Tac Sport in 9mm!  Oh yeah!)

Yes, I concidered, but I guess it would be over done.
I don't want to "copy" the SP01 special/limited.
The plan was to do only the barrel. But the comp. hammer came in black, I didnt want it to be black but stainless. So I had a choice, the stainless look coating, or the gold look coating. The gold look makes it more to the top I guess.

I have to replace the grip screws for stainles, and the security screw in the funnel too.

Thanks !!

The grips come from CZ, webshop. Available in black, red, blue, alu. They are available in long and short version. The short for if you have a mag. funnel. The oter parts like mag. funnel, mag. base are also available in mentioned colours.

Mr. Odepetho...that looks bad ass, I see the additions. I really like the color contrast between the stainless and red grips. Where do you get those? and do they come in blue? I had been contemplating getting some wooden grips for my stainless, but now I may go with those aluminum ones. **edit, I found them, yes they come in blue, but they are out of stock. Bummer.**

Here's mine:

SA tricker system
Competition hammer
Alu grips
Alu mag. funnel
Alu mag. base
LPA adjustable rear sight with green optic fibre and at the front a red fibre optic.

Hammer and barrel are titan/nitride coated, gold colour.

I love it!  C'mon now Raynbow6... please tell us:

- Where did you got the CZUB engraved and checkered grips... in a plain silver aluminum finish?  The CZUB aluminum grips available on the CZ-USA website are anodized a color (blue, red, and black).  Did you have yours re-finished... or the color stripped?  I should have read further.  You mentioned the "CZ webshop".  Can I guess that you meant the European "CZ webshop" here?:  http://www.shop-cz.com (http://www.shop-cz.com)
What a shame.  No plain aluminum here at CZ-USA:  http://shop.cz-usa.com/C-7/CZ-PRODUCTS.aspx (http://shop.cz-usa.com/C-7/CZ-PRODUCTS.aspx)

- Who did your Titanium Nitride coating?
You mentioned "a local gunsmith".  Is that in Europe or state-side?  I've wanted to get some parts finished in Titanium Nitride as well.  I live in an area that has several TiN finishing services just a few miles away.  I've asked about getting some small parts coated in Titanium Nitride (safety, slide stop, trigger, hammer, magazine release, etc).   I wasn't interested in getting the barrel done, and since the parts are small, I figured they might do them while working on a larger job.  Unfortunately, none of them are interested in touching firearm parts (even if provided disassembled).  (Only one person mentioned a lower temp required for application to pistol parts?).

- What model LPA sight? and where did you get it?  I've seen others that got an LPA sight that "hangs" back so far that the hammer needs to be notched (or a competition hammer like yours needs to be installed).  Your rear sight looks "even" with the back of the slide, and it almost looks like a standard hammer would still be functional.

- Is that a straight SA Trigger from CZ Custom that you simply stripped to the plain aluminum finish?

- Where did you get the extended mag base in a plain aluminum finish?  The mag well looks like one from CZ Custom, here: http://czcustom.com/CZ_mag_wells.aspx (http://czcustom.com/CZ_mag_wells.aspx)  ...but I don't see the extended mag base in plain aluminum.

GREAT work!!!

Thanks for that !!

Please check: http://www.shop-cz.com/pistol-grips/c-1174/ (http://www.shop-cz.com/pistol-grips/c-1174/) for a lot of grips.
Or choose the Hogue ones: http://www.hoguestore.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=116_125_553 (http://www.hoguestore.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=116_125_553)
Those are without CZ logo.

The SA trigger coms from CZ custom, same as the mag well and the base plates.
The LPA sight comes just from the shelf, at a local gun store. Its Italian I think: http://www.lpasights.com/indexeng.asp (http://www.lpasights.com/indexeng.asp) It fits perfectly, but I think it is rather high.
The coating, yes, I think its art  :)
I done it locally in Europe, just a company same as you mention. All parts were first polished. The hammer was sand blasted as the comp. hammer came in black only.
Yes, correct, new technics for coating, makes it possible to do this on very low temperature. Otherwise the parts will be deformed. You don't want this to happen with your barrel  8)
I have to replace the grip screws for stainless ones.

Got this New edition (limited edition?) the other day, after alternating between the two-tone compact and the SS New edition for a while..it just looked and felt much better than both the compact as well as the matte SS.

The box says new edition, there are no markings as such on the gun. It has got tritium sights.

Below with a couple of TS, the aluminum grip TS also belongs to me as well..

That baby is SO SWEET ! ! !
I really dig the Polished / Matte look
The Polished flats with the Matte contours and Controls....that is just too cool
AND, I think I like it better without the ?LIMITED? Roll Mark
Makes it look like it?s more of a custom Pistol that way
Very VERY NICE

DragonDog ~ thanks for the thumbs up on the grips...  Pictures do not do them justice.  The grips are from Houge... honestly I bought them on a whim, I have several others that cost much more, but the pearl seems to fit the look I was trying to get. I have a CZ 75 SA that sees all the range action. Again ~ thanks!

Thanks for taking the second picture...  It truly looks like over a 1k pistol.  I don't hate on other manafactuers, but I will say CZ got the 9MM stainless auto pistol by the Cojones!!!  When I purchased a set of sequential numbered Pythons many years ago all my friends said to to to flashy Harold, now they say "Can I see them please...?"...   Your CZ truly looks like a work of art... I also like the chrome mag and the stainless hex grip screws ~ nice touch.  My money says you have or will have a stainless guide rod and Wolf Springs.  I'm awaiting a set of grips from HAKAN (The undisputed Greatest Grip Maker on the planet!), but I have to say the grips on your CZ looks eatable!  Bottom Line... Give her a name and keep her close!

I like to know how the 13lb works after 200 rounds or so... I found the CZ 14lb springs are closer to 12!  I use a Wolff conventional 16-lb spring in my CZ-75 pistols as well as a shock buffer from Buffer Technologies.  Takes a while for it to sit...  but its worth the short wait. Denstinnet ~ Great idea on a uniform background...  I may steal the concept on my next photo... OORAH!

They're gorgeous.  Interesting how different finishes can be.  One looks almost chrome.  I like both of them though.

There are too many SS pistols with blued steel mag bases out there. Their owners need to do something about it!!!

Joe,

Do you have a website? I would love to purchase some stainless base plates.

I am new to the website and looking to purchase the CZ 75 (polished). I love the wooden handles on posts by Jsun, danwdooley, andrew70 and others.  Which handles are these?  Are they optional from CZ (I have only seen the stainless with the black)?

Also, does anyone have any leads on where I can find the polished...at a reasonable price (MSRP or less)?  All of the dealers that I have contacted do not have any, and do not know when they will receive any.

First, Welcome to the forum!

These grips can be found on the CZ-USA website. The grips shown in this thread are Cocobolo.
You can also find Walnut grips on the CZ-USA website. Here is the link.

That is one sexy beast

Thank You Den. I wasn't quite finished yet, but just completed my 4 mag custom engraved plates. I came up with a 4 dot marking system that can identify each mag number or even be color coded for different ammo types. These are engraved (finished myself in the machine shop today) then engraved dots filled with paint. Spent quite some time finishing, but now own one of a kind pistol.  :)

Just a basic 75b in matte

Got it in at the range and I can get them at cost so I nabbed it for $629

Amazing how the cost has shot up for them.

I grabbed the new grips from Stuart and I think they make the pistol look so much nicer.

Came with the wood grips but I never liked them as much

I have a few sets sitting in a box in the garage

Hi Josh,

I just picked up my first Stainless CZ and it came with the Red Coco grips and night sights. It was used so I was not 100% sure it came that way from the factory. The SKU is 91125 instead of the 91128 number listed on the CZ web site for the Matte Stainless version. So I guess it was some sort of special edition. Thanks for the feedback.

Nice gun Kraaken. The only thing I would change on those baseplates would be to angle the rear of the plate to sit flush with the pistol. Due to the material thickness, I think there is room to do this and it would improve the look. They look exceptionally well polished though. The guy that does these is one of those rare people that gives a bleep about what they produce.

Thank you, the original design came from Joe here and with a few minor tweaks I tooled, programmed, cnc machined, and polish every one myself as a side hobby. I considered extending them also, but it will make the plate heavier, thicker, and then you get into the radius on the grip that depending on grip can change and mismatch. Also, that end of the butt looks pretty darn good stock, so it was left @ stock length.

Here is a closeup of the end blend from another angle.

Wow, that pinky rest mag base plate is sweet....... If you have any more I'd love to buy a few.  Also... And I'm just asking... You don't have anything like the extended base plate on the 18 round mag like on the sp01?

The pistol is actually a Satin Nickle finish Compact. All the compacts come with full length guide rods due to the length of the slide.

no, but I thought of adding black controls for manual safety and slide release. It really doesn't bother me though, I like the black on stainless look; reminds me of many stainless 1911s out there.

The problem with black controls on a stainless pistol is that it would then be mistaken for a Satin Nickle one.

This is a "Special Edition" 75B stainless. I put on a Hogue wraparound grip. Try as I might, I just couldn't shoot well with the TruGlo open sights with my old eyes. I've had good results with a red dot on my S&W M41, so put a red dot on the SE. See what you think:

Here are pictures of my new shiny toy.
I added cocobolo grips with czcustom screws. The new screws were expensive (as for screws), but I think the original screws don't belong there.
Also, I added a magazine plate and a  lanyard loop. I wished the loop was stainless, but its not. I will probably get used to it.
Without the plate and the lanyard loop the handle was ending kind of abruptly. There was no reason for it:)

Best regards.

Not quite a 75B Stainless but for certain it's CZ (DW)...  bet if CZ did a 75B in Big Bore it would look similar to their DW Heritage .45 cal Stainless...  Well ~ maybe?!
The grips are by HAKAN (the KING OF GRIPS) and the mags are Tripp (1911's love 'em)...

sorry for blasting this everywhere.. but i have to sell it.

If your going to advertise your gun for sale here, I suggest you at least post your own pictures of your own actual magazines and not cropped 2 mag pictures from my website.

I purchased them from you. I cropped it because i dont want people thinking im selling a gun with different grips. People use "stock" photos all the time. If it were the gun i think it would be an issue...but the bases...common. Hell, this is free advertising for you anyways....so relax.

It's not just about me, the pics I couldn't care less. But consider there are plenty of scammers out there selling scams. You are here only about a month, buy a new CZ then a little over 2 weeks later sell a "new" CZ using pictures that at least one is not yours. Sets off flags and may scare off legit buyers that notice and look for this.

I get that and I am sorry I did that. I didnt have time to take photos, otherwise they would be changed out. I will surely have them updated over the weekend. In the future, I will know what not to do. Thank you.

This is mine, I gave it a brushed finish there is an old thread called "My Brushed Stainless CZ" in this forum on how I did it.  Had to google it to find it.  Anyway it has some nice grips off ebay from Thailand, grip screws, A DPM recoil reduction system, gave it a good trigger job, some black magic skateboard tape off amazon, lower power mainspring. The last picture shows the brushed grain better. How does it perform with the Fastfire?
Title: Re: CZ-75 Stainless Picture Thread
Post by: TTro33 on June 28, 2013, 11:36:51 PM
Fast fire? If your talking about the DPM recoil reducer.  It seems to have less muzzle flip.  The whole idea I think is it spreads out the recoil over a little extra time so that the main impulse of energy or kick doesn't overpower you as much resulting in less muzzle flip.  You can't beat newton and his laws of physics, but you can spread out the energy so it doesn't overpower you all at once.  I like it.

I think we need a consolidated place were we can post pictures of, probably one of the sexiest 9mm ever designed.  A lot of other firearms forums have dedicated picture threads.

So please post your beauty.

I've always believed;
The only dumb question, is the one not asked  8)

Short answer....YES

You have to strip the Frame bare, and use a LOT of Elbow Grease and loving time....but they do polish-up very nicely
I think they look GREAT if you leave the Controls, Trigger, Hammer and the Slide / Cocking Serrations Matte

Here is a couple of base pads that will soon adorn the 10 round magazines of a Canadian CZ75 Stainless. I modified two of Verndog's logo plates to attach to two base pads that I modified. Really looks great. I decided not to show them in a pistol as the new owner should have that opportunity.

Excellent work Joe. Way to go above and beyond to get another happy CZ owner a nicely finished pistol. Were you able to just add the 82 or 100 deg countersink to the plates, or did you have to bore the hole open as well?

Just had to countersink the existing hole. The the diameter of the head of the screws I used are somewhat smaller than the specs indicate which worked in my favor. Looking forward to the new owner's comments.

This is my work in progress, my polished stainless 75 B with SS base plates from Verndog at ppdbillet.com (http://ppdbillet.com) and half-checkered cocobolo grips with SS hex screws from czcustom.com (http://czcustom.com). Next month I'm gonna try to send my slide off to Schmeky at cajungunworks.com (http://cajungunworks.com) for a Dawson Precision fibre-optic front sight and rear LPA sight. I'm still waiting to hear back from Hakan Pek in the hopes of acquiring some Flame Ambroina and maybe also some American Walnut grips.  Stay tuned!

Kudos and thanks to both Verndog and CZ Custom for quickly shipping my orders and for their beautiful products. They made a world of difference in my pistols appearance.

I've been a revolver shooter in the past, but didn't shoot for 19 years. I was good at it. Don't know why I stopped. Late last year I hauled out my old girlfriend. She's a blued 6" S&W 586 (no dash) Distinguished Combat Magnum named Missy. We went on a date to the range and shot up all my stock of 38 special and 357 magnum loads. Like, I don't know, 450 rounds. We were at the range for a whole afternoon. She was the only revolver all that time. I felt bad for her. BTW included in our menu choices that afternoon were my last 100 rounds of 38 special wadcutter that were manufactured in Yugoslavia and purchased at Walmart in Norman, OK for $5.95 a box of 50 back in the 1980s! No more Yugoslavia, we all know how that went, but the ammo was excellent.

SO...I needed more ammo, but then I decided -- maybe I needed to get a new girlfriend. Semi-automatic was necessary since I despeartely need to avoid being perceived as an old man with an even older gun. "OMG what is that?" "Is it a 22?" Then I had to decide. 9mm? 40? What? WHAT? So many choices. Saw the CZ-85 Combat and thought, "Yeah, that would be sweet." Then she caught my eye. Stainless. Something I'd made a rule about. Never again to have a firearm that wasn't made from stainless. Unless it's a .22 -- I can live with that.

Shopped the 'net and put together the deal for my new girlfriend about 2 weeks ago...she finally arrived at my dealer 2 days ago...we accomplished the FFL transfer yesterday afternoon and I brought Koko home. She's named after Koko Taylor. Video below if you don't know who that is. She's a woman. She's a ball of fire. She can change old to new. Also got a three-pack of mags from CZ-USA store and scored some ammo, but not much. More on order.

Meet Koko. She's still filthy from our date/workout earlier today. But it's good filth.

Shot 80 rounds today. Distance at about 7 yards. First target (annotated) was American Eagle 115 GR FMJ. Second target was 10 rounds SA as fast as the range allows (minimum 1 second between shots) of Speer +P 125 GR GDHP. The 7-ring is 3 inches. I do need a bit of work on my skillset to get where I used to be with the revolver and where I want to be again. That was also evident with the 586. My eyesight isn't what it was 19 years ago either. Must say that I love this CZ trigger. I did well over 500 dry fires both DA and SA into an old foam earplug blocking the firing pin last night, that was after a good cleaning and lubing up with moly. MY GOD the magazines were a GREASY MESS. Used hot water and dish soap to scrub it all out and then applied super-lube dri-film.

OK. I lied. The REAL first target was someone elses all shot up, but I got to my lane at the range right after the cease fire was over and the range opened up so I couldn't wait and fired four rounds at a clean spot on the old paper to see if the sights were close. BTW the factory "hit pattern data chart" shows the windage is a bit right also. Elevation seems pretty much right on at 7 yards though for both types of ammo.

Might be.  ;) She does shoot very well.  The only gun that I have that comes close in the accuracy department is my HS Victor.  And it's not enough that I could measure the difference.  Just never thought it would cost me as much to shoot them as my centerfires...  :-[

This pic doesn't do it any justice. But I was really excited about this mod, so I had to get a quick and dirty pic from my phone's camera.
It's not my original idea, found it on official CZUB facebook page, not CZUSA's maybe it's there too, idk. But anyways, I felt I just had to have one of my own.

Thanks to 75Plus(Joe) on the mag baseplates. They just finish off the look that I was going for quite nicely.

Actually Verndog made the plates with the CZ logo. I just married them to the 10 round mags that California seems to like.

Just picked up this Stainless LE to use occasionally in IDPA (SSP) and USPSA (Production).  My primary game guns are Tanfoglios, but after buying a P-07 for concealed carry, I decided I needed another CZ.  The two-tone finish on the LE blew me away when I first saw it and knew I had to have it.  8)

IMHO, the two tone finish on the LE and New Edition are just about the best finish combination on a CZ and must be seen in person to be appreciated. It's certainly more attractive to me than say, scrollwork on some special editions. Congrats on the LE.

Quick question for those with stainless polished and satin finish.  How difficult is it to convert the parts from Matt black to a polished finish?

The Matte Black / Polycoat is NOT on Stainless metal
Some are "White Steel" and some are Aloy
If you "buff" the Polycoat off, you'll have to Blue it, have it Case Harded, Nickel Plated or Hard Chromed
Or just let it rust   :o

Now if you meant Matte Stainless....then just strip the Frame and Slide and Polish the #e[[ out of it   8)

Nice looking pistol.

Second trip shot a box of WWB with several FTE. Ammo was weak and dirty.
What else were you shooting that you're comparing it to (the weak part, not the dirty part)?
Title: Re: CZ-75 Stainless Picture Thread
Post by: stevo0728 on February 26, 2015, 12:53:05 AM
Winchester white box was weak and dirty.  Shot some re manufactured ammo from freedom munitions that worked flawless.
Title: Re: CZ-75 Stainless Picture Thread
Post by: Bret on February 26, 2015, 08:43:01 AM
My personal experience is that WWB, Federal American Eagle, Remington UMC, Speer Lawman and CCI Blazer Brass are all about the same when it comes to their power.  I think of them as regular power loads.  Italian Fiocchi and Geco have a little more power.  All of my CZ's will run with any of them except my CZ 75B SA which sometimes has trouble with the regular power loads.  It's likely because of the heavier slide or the recoil spring.
Title: Re: CZ-75 Stainless Picture Thread
Post by: stevo0728 on February 26, 2015, 11:05:21 AM
My shooting buddy said that the freedom munitions ammo was kicking out several feet upon ejection, but the WWB was barely popping out. It was that 100 value pack I picked up at Academy sports. I read on several blogs that others have had trouble with this value pack. I bought some Aguila and Remington UMC to try out next time.

The Media Blaster would be a great way to remove the PolyCoat and leave a nice Matte Finish on the Stainless
A Buffing Wheel works well to bring out a high polished finish
Personally, I used Cratex Tips on my Dremel Tool to polish my Stainless Frame before I "brush" finished it

Here's my matte stainless pistol. I've added a Dawson front fiber optic sight and replaced the stock rubber grips for a Hogue one piece rubber grip. Both are a big help to me. I can see the fiber optic sight much better and the Hogue grip fits my hand a lot better.

Why thank you.  Those are actually Hogue pearlite grips that I got custom laser etching from gungrips.net (though CZ is not listed there, they were nice enough to still etch the grips for me).

The stainless Chinese character is "dragon" (because my daughter is born in the year of the dragon, plus a dragon is always bada$$).  There's actually different characters on the other side, but the SP01 characters, when combined, is "bright".

very happy to[finally] be in this club. I stumbled across this on my day off work and couldn't resist. FO front sight and rear tactical are also on the way. going to have my LGS install those along with the spring kit from CGW. dated 08.

All that's missing is a set of Stainless Torx or Hex Grip Screws

My matte stainless 75B should be ready to pick up in a couple of weeks so I haven't handled it yet.

But I have a quick question; do the current matte stainless 75B's come with magazines that are stainless, chrome, or blued?

Mine are blued. Gun was manufactured earlier this year

Ahh, thanks. I would have assumed that the stainless would come with chrome mags, but I am obviously wrong.

Even though I won't be picking mine up for a couple of weeks, I know I'll want spare magazines for it, so I've already ordered 3 of the 16-round in chrome and then 3 of the 18-round in blue.

Truly loved the looks of mine but decided  a 75BD was more atuned to my needs so it is on consignment at the LGS and a black 75BD on order
Wish they made a 75BD in stainless
Don't know why they didn't

This was my matte stainless until about two weeks ago when I sold it to a friend.  I replaced it with a high polish stainless.  I'll post a photo of that one once I figure out what grips to put on it.

My original Matte Stainless mags are now NP3'd.  The color is almost perfect.  One of these days I'll check if photobucket is usable again or dig up my name and password for that hunting site that hosts images or maybe give in to tapatalk that lets you share images from a tablet as some have pointed out.

Okay I have to say this stainless thread is inspiring, I've owned many CZ's over the years but never a stainless one.  I went through all 28 pages of this thread and can really appreciate each and every one of them.....the one I'm most drawn to is the polished version, they really POP!!!  My question to those of you that have experience shooting the polished ones is this...is there too much glare/shine off the slide when shooting them outdoors. I've owned some stainless barreled rifles that were a bit too reflective, almost irritating after shooting for a while. Any feedback is appreciated  8)

It is likely to be a Hard Chrome refinish, witch looks allot like matte stainless. To my knowledge CZ has never made a stainless SP-01 or SP-01 Shadow but there are refinished Hard Chrome instances of just about every CZ model.

The above grips are of true Cocobolo wood.

One can identify true Cocobolo wood by that specific browny-red chestnut color and the depth and figure and inherent beauty of the grain.  Good examples of Cocobolo are getting scarce in today's profit-generated world and the best of them are commanding higher and higher prices.  As such in cost-cutting measures, fake impostor woods of similar-appearance and sources of lesser quality Cocobolo are becoming popular and ubiquitous.

Padauk wood is the most prominent source of fake Cocobolo and is now being slyly introduced as true "Cocobolo", under the legal loophole that "Cocobolo" by definition is just an "appearance" similar to true Cocobolo wood and as such, is a fully-legal label as nobody can patent a species per se.

For proof of this assertion, just look at the majority of SS CZ-75B grips pictured on the internet labelled as Cocobolo wood.  The vast majority are of the half-checkered "Cocobolo" variety of Padauk, the much more purple-red coloured wood, the current Chinese impostor and leader in the extinction of true Cocobolo.

Padauk is much cheaper to produce and thus profits are huge and really, the gaudy color is not worthy of our guns.

So in seeking the right look of Cocobolo grips for your prized CZ-75B of polished SS or not, do your homework as a consumer.  A set of grips that are way too orange or too purple or red are not the true Cocobolo wood - labelled as such or not - that truly complements the look of of your prized CZ-75B.

Perhaps if the introduction of the term "FauxCobolo" were introduced, it might defuse the gap between the hapless buyers' disappointment in their uninformed purchase and that MAYBE unscrupulous sellers potentially conflicted by moral hazard in "unintentionally misrepresenting" their products in the gas-lit hope that their consumers will not notice and buck up for a lesser product and the sense of a better deal masked as a lower price anyway.
